Grab the biggest tulle ballgown you can find and take a casual stroll with us through this ancient abbey–this editorial shoot in Italy is every bit as dreamy as that sounds. It is tranquil and grand, elegant and reserved, the perfect balance of nature and man-made grandeur. The fashions and decor selected for this shoot, while modern, fit so seamlessly with this vintage venue that any of these scenes could have easily been taken from one of the many frescos that decorate the walls of this beautiful place. If you're looking for a timeless wedding inspiration but still want to make a statement with your wedding, then this shoot is a must-see!
Mery Liccardi Eventi was taken with Abbazia Santa Maria Di Cerrate and its history and legends, it is what inspired them to create this incredible shoot. Flower Addicted took notes from the venue itself to dictate the color palette for these delicate floral arrangements that you see throughout. These photos by Cinzia Miccoli and Yulia Longo are absolutely glowing and give the entire shoot an otherworldly feel, almost like it was all just a vision. Merak Studio was also there to capture every vignette in motion. Need more from this inspiration? “Petra” is a journey in the history of a place where the sacred and the profane meet. Among the frescoes of a Romanesque church sculpted in the white local stone and its gallery, an ethereal beauty lights up every corner. Of Latin origin, the term Petra is a symbol of strength and beauty that defies time. The warm color of the stone that builds the church reflects the light of the south of a land with a millenary history. The Abbey “Santa Maria Di Cerrate” was the idyllic setting for an ethereal, elegant, and delicate inspirational editorial. Soft colors and a refined aesthetic that blends with the surroundings create a romantic and timeless atmosphere.
Legend says that the abbey, located in the province of Lecce, in the beautiful region of Puglia, was built after the appearance of the Virgin to Tancred of Hauteville, Count of Lecce. Legend or not, the beauty of this place is evident with its unique frescoes and the gallery adorned with capitals decorated by mythological and animal figures. The beauty of the place praises the creativity of the team of professionals who use elements and details as ingredients to produce a dream editorial.
An ethereal and romantic bride strolls through the beautiful corners of this place presenting two looks by Idea Sposa. A tulle dress in a nude color with a natural look created by the team of the hairstylist Antonio Candido and the makeup artist Vania Tommasi alternates with another more romantic tulle dress with a more elegant updo and always with a luminous and natural makeup.
The floral design by Flower Addicted blends with the surroundings through an organic style and a delicate color palette. Ranunculus, tulips, and roses mixed with white preserved Ruscus, create soft shapes and give that romantic touch to the decoration. On the table, balance and harmony dominate, thanks also to organic elements such as the local stone (named “pietra leccese”), which gives a unique and different touch. The artisans of Le Meraviglie Della Pietra created stone chargers, using the typical material of this region of southern Italy, and together with elements such as tea light holders, amphora, and vases, they create an original tablescape. The stationery by Wild Flower Estudio gives that elegant and classic touch to the table, together with the soft chiffon runner by Pomegranate Colours.
The cake created by Alessandra Leo, with its delicate shapes and neutral colors, complements the general aesthetic of the editorial perfectly. Timeless photography by Yulia Longo and Cinzia Miccoli captures every detail with a look that treasures the spirit of the place and is complemented by the work of the brilliant videographer Merak Studio. “Petra”, luminous and pure as a bride. A fine element that lays the foundations of this place that endures over time and that takes us into the wonderful world of this inspirational editorial.
