Robin Hood and Maid Marian are two classic characters that most of us have grown up loving. The romance, the drama and the lush English greenery of the Sherwood Forest all make for a great wedding theme! Well, that's what Matchmade Event Co thought when they began designing this next inspirational shoot, and we simply have to agree! This fun and flirty wedding shoot features, of course, an arrow theme as well as cute signage with quotes from the children's movie, and chocolate gold coins as wedding favors!

From Matchmade Event Co:This Robin Hood inspired garden wedding shoot is built around the story of two young college students from England whose first date was to Sherwood Forest outside Nottingham. Set at Bishops Hall Bed & Breakfast in Oak Park, Illinois, the setting and details of this gold, green, and ivory shoot draw inspiration from the couple’s English heritage and personal connection to the story of Robin Hood.
The arrows on handmade place cards, menus, and invitations are a nod to Robin Hood, and wording from the children’s movie is integrated into the programs and signage.
Also, in typical English style, we incorporated afternoon tea as well as hats for guests to don at the reception. Our couple fit their roles to a “T”, and they were so cozy that we almost forgot it was all make believe!
One unique twist to the wedding is a gift table that features envelopes where guests can donate a monetary gift in lieu of a wedding gift in honor of the wedding couple. The wording on the gift table is a clever quote from Robin Hood that reads, “Stealing from the rich to give to the poor.” The favor boxes were individually embossed, and guests took home a handful of gold chocolate coins in the evening. Despite the gorgeous cake and creative gift table, the real focal point of the shoot is the reception table, which evokes the enchantment of Sherwood Forest with its wood elements, lush greenery, and soft candlelight.
