Just the overall atmosphere of a city like New York is going to affect the vibe of your wedding day. Margaret Rose Events asks the question, what if you embraced that moody, edgy glamour NYC exudes? To see what that would be like she put together this wedding inspiration and we have to say, we LOVE the results!
Not only was this crew filled with inspiring talent but the whole event feels like the perfect mix of old and new, quaint and modern. You won't want to miss out on the details waiting for you in the full gallery; Forever Photography provided us with some unbelievably gorgeous images.
Our goal was to create an edgy, moody atmosphere that also felt romantic and beautiful much like the neighborhood we shot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Shot by Forever Photography, a color scheme of grey, emerald green, and mauve with gold accents was used to capture a dark, yet idyllic vibe that is quintessentially New York City.
Margaret Rose Events was the creative director and planner for the shoot. Margaret was able to put together a fully female, rock star crew who worked seamlessly to create this stunning, moody shoot.
Margaret drew a lot of inspiration from Downtown New York City, an area that is both eccentric and cool but also effortlessly glamorous. She wanted to capture a wedding that was both romantic and luxe, but with an edgy, cool aesthetic.
Highlighted by its geodesic dome-like enclosure made of red cedar and leveled interior, Kinfolk 94 provided the perfect enclave for our moody love story to take shape. Kinfolk 94 is the third space within the multidisciplinary Kinfolk compound which also includes a menswear boutique and a café.
The amazing team at Botanique NYC designed the florals including the framed floral installation that gave life to the white brick wall featured in the space. They absolutely nailed the theme and hit it out of the park by somehow making the flowers look both antique and fresh at the same time. They also made the lovely smudge stick favors which smelled as pretty as they looked.
Ashley Holt of Sugar Monster Sweets (and winner of TLC’s Next Great Baker!) designed the four-tier eggplant and gold cake with black accents. Ashley is a creative force and a new mom who was able to deliver this cake within days of giving birth to her first child! What a rock star.
The delicate, feminine jewelry was provided by Everett NYC, a New York City-based brand founded by Alexandra Cole Nelson. Her pieces are simple and clean in design, set with complex and brilliant stones. They provided just the right amount of sparkle while maintaining the effortless beauty we were looking for.
