Eco-Friendly Elopement: Studland Beach Shoot with a Beloved Past Couple

Couple walking on the beach at sunset holding hands

Hilary and Ben were a past wedding client where I captured their wedding and I loved their connection and just all around free and fun vibes. I approached them to work with me on a simple elopement beach shoot where it was about the eco vibes and DIY step dinner set up.

You Don Not Need Fancy

Showing couples that things do not have to be intense or fancy and can have all the personal elements you want. And also a nod to the hope that the UK is looking to take us into the modern times to allow weddings in applies like beaches, parks and homes where currently we are not allowed to conduct legal ceremonies. I wanted to work with a real couple, with perfect connection and who better than a past couple of mine!

Wedding Location

I picked Studland Beach for its lovely sand dunes and fine sand. Having a secluded spot to be able o do the dinner set up and then as the sun was going down, take a dip in the sea!

The Dress

The dress was designed by Bowen Dryden, a company aware of the current climate and conscious of the environmental impact of fashion manufacturing. Bowen Dryden curated a collection that not only considers the creation of a garment but also sustainability and the impact that untimely disposal of clothing has on the planet making way for ‘not so fast fashion’.

Their gowns are made from organic cotton fabrics from ethically grown crops without pesticides and every part of the garment biodegradable. Conscientiously designing these sustainable garments so that they can easily be worn again. Even the buttons are ingeniously manufactured in cotton, the garment label is embroidered and the swing tags are recycled seedling paper tied with hessian.
