The first reason guests come to your wedding is to witness your love and union together, but the second reason they come is to experience a wonderful celebration. Including the food, decor and overall ambiance of an event.
Contemporary Catering knows that brides want their guests to have an enjoyable experience first hand. Lucky for us and some of the other top wedding bloggers around, we got to experience an intimate 7 course dinner. Complete with over the top decor and florals, a personalized cheese bar and of course some exquisite food. Read on to learn more from the vendors that collaborated to design this event and see more photos captured by Braedon Photography in the full gallery here. A special thanks to Be Inspired PR for inviting us to this very special event.
From JL Designs on the florals:We tried to steer clear of pastels and brighter colors which we have been seeing so much of…I aimed for darker, richer tones and picked seasonal blooms with interesting textures and shapes - frittalaria, helleborous,
We are huge cheese fans. When we arrived, we were not only blown away by the overall decor and ambiance of the event, but super excited that everyone was given their own personalized cheese platter. Nathaniel from Contemporary Catering hand-crafted each one.
The bar area was meant to emulate a traditional European wine & cheese shop with old bistro chalkboard. We loved this idea for a small dinner party. The cheeses included: imported and Domestic Cheeses such as home made breads, Candied Pecans, Quince Paste, Fruit Preserves, Fresh Honeycomb, Dates. All paired with OneHope Weddings Wine's Champagne/Sauvignon Blanc.
From Cortnie Purdy of Canvas and Canopy on Dutch Still Life Wedding Ideas:we noticed in dutch still life paintings that the backgrounds are very simple and the flowers were the main subject. since this was our inspiration we wanted to create a dramatic and monocromatic palette similar to the dutch still life painting backdrops so that the flowers were the forefront of the design. To achieve this look we painted all containers and candlesticks in a matte black and blue. we color matched the blue table linens from la tavola to the exact shade of blue paint from Behr, and painted some of the candlesticks in this color, then adorned them with tall blue candlesticks to create a dramatic monocromatic look.
Since dutch still life was our inspiration, of course we had all of the stationary hand painted by Momental Designs with raw strokes of navy, black and teal keeping the design current and fresh for a modern day celebration.
All the food was simply amazing, but we have to say one of our favorite courses was dessert. Individual panna cotta with caramelized nectarines served with a sarsaparilla freeze “shot.” Crumbled pepino and chile brittle. Paired with OneHope Wine's Red Zin.
