Inspired by the colors of the water and whimsical charm of Puslinch Lake, this styled shoot fostered a Nantucket meets Bohemian flavor. Subtle elements of the surroundings were enhanced without going overboard, no pun intended, on a true nautical theme, given the location. Our entire shoot was centered around sourcing sustainable, local items from our location at friends Kellie and Jeff Parks' lake house, to our naturalist bride for the day and her boho gown, to our local vendors and flowers; the combination of these items paired with the casual design elements all either made by hand or re-purposed, really echoed the sustainable concept we set out to achieve.
The bride's whimsical peony and garden rose bouquet added a splash of color and rhythm against the dark calm hues of the lake as well as our tablescape; accented with blue dip dyed textiles, a garland centerpiece cascading the length of the table with antique insulators set in and amongst the foliage caught the sunlight in just the most stunning way. Our oil and vinegar tasting bar was a really fun addition to the shoot, it provided a sampling of the favors each guest would bring home with them at the end of the party to enjoy.
The watercolor invitation suite and escort cards really corresponded so well with our casual lakeside affair, and how about that hand painted cake! We hope you are as charmed by our styled shoot as much as we were while creating it and seeing it all come to fruition so wonderfully! Lisa and I are so very thankful to have had the pleasure to work with such esteemed vendors, a million thank yous to everyone!
