From Paper Bloom:Love… pure, true, whimsical, marrying your best friend kind of love! We wanted to do a styled shoot that captured lighthearted real love. We worked to design a space that felt fresh and modern but still homage to old classic charm on the 1912 venue. Our models got married in “real life” last year and have that kind of love that just makes you smile. The colors for the shoot were chosen because of their bright and cheery nature.
Bella Via is an intimate venue in the small historic town of Sherwood, Oregon. We loved the small town feel of the location. The shoot details were coordinated by Champagne Wedding Coordination who worked hand in hand with local event florist, Bella Bloom Florals, to fill the shoot with adorable details. Together they handpicked wedding vendors, most right from the Sherwood area.
We couldn’t do a shoot without including at least one or… two DIY projects. This shoot contained three totally doable and budget friendly DIY projects: DIY Pillows, DIY Ribbon Flower Girl Wands and DIY Table Runners.
We started with a white palette to create a clean, fresh feel and then incorporated shades of coral and light pink to create a vibrant, cheerful atmosphere. We used different patterned fabric to create napkin rings, painted the striped runner and made pillows to add to the ceremony and lounge décor! Coral can be a tricky color. Many people interrupt coral differently some people see it as more orange and others more pink. We used multiple shades of coral ranging from peach to a pink to get our color… We also chose shades of gray as our neutral back drop and accent for the coral.
Some of the favorite details… The bouquet charms were designed and hand crafted by, Ruby Girl Design, a local Sherwood artist. The cakes came from, Sweet Story Bakery, the small sweet shop located a couple blocks from the venue.
DIY Pillows:We created our own pillows from fun and coordinating fabrics we purchase from a local fabric store. Colorful pillows is an easy way to color and a little whimsy to your ceremony chairs or a cocktail/lounge area at your wedding.DIY Table Runners:We wanted to create table runners that anyone could easily recreate for their own wedding. We purchased simple white pre-made white runners from Ikea, sample size cans of paint in two colors, masking tape and foam paint rollers to complete this project. Once we had our supplies we taped out our pattern, painted the first color and let it dry and then painted the second color. This is an easy way to add a lot of color to your reception tables. They also put together video blog on how to make the table runners. Check it out below!
DIY Ribbon Flower Girl Wands:To make your own DIY flower girl wands you’ll need 16” of ½ inch wooden dowel, approximately 4 yards of ribbon in different colors and a hot glue gun. Start by taking three length of ribbon (each approximately 1 yard) and one shorter piece of ribbon (approximately 6 inches long) and trying them together at their center in a simple knot. Cover one side of the short piece of ribbon and glue it to the top of the dowel. Add extra glue at the top of the down and under the knot to help secure the ribbon part of the wand. Now starting at the other end of the wood dowel wrap ribbon up the wood dowel to completely cover the dowel and the short pieces of ribbon you glued to the top of the dowel. As you are wrapping the ribbon up the wand add a touch of glue ever so often to keep the ribbon from coming loose. Wala! Adorable budget friendly flower girl accessories!
