Who else thinks 2019 is just too dang far away for more Game of Thrones drama? Personally, my days are missing something without at least one Tyrion Lannister quip in them; but alas, we will just have to soak up any and everything GoT inspired, until our beloved show returns.
Enter Karen Rainier Photography. Together with Katie Price Events and a highly skilled team of vendors, Karen pulled together this delicious little taste of what Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen's boho chic and oh-so-magical wedding just might look like! So strap in Westeros fans, this wedding inspo is about to blow you away!
I have had this Game of Thrones shoot in my head for years, but when I saw the storyline with a romance between Jon Snow and Daenerys I knew what I had to do: a Jon & Dany inspired elopement. I took my favorite elements from Game of Thrones, found a gorgeous real-life couple (not related like Jon & Dany might be haha) with a resemblance to Daenerys & Jon, and worked with two of my favorite venues, and a team of talented vendors. I wanted to stay true to the show with some fun “easter egg” details for fans, but also took artistic license to keep the vibe bohemian and modern, while preserving the otherworldly feel of Westeros.
The portrait session was held at Patapsco Female Institute, where the stunning columns and stone feel magical. The styled portion was shot at Montagu Meadows in the amazing historic, restored building turned bridal suite, with Katie Price Events collaborating on the styling the tablescape. It was the perfect spot to house a regal but cozy feast for two.
Katie and I wanted to keep the rich colors and textures from Westeros alive. Hints of velvet and deep autumn colors- inspired by the different areas of Westeros from Winterfell to Kings Landing to Dragonstone.
Carly from Pins-N-Brushes and Ashley from So Blushed Beauty transformed my real-life couple (Kourtney & Tyler) into the perfect Jon and Dany.
Leah Letters and Curious Fox Press collaborated on the amazing vows and menus. Check out the “real” vows straight out of Westeros, and the feast, fit for a couple deserving of the iron throne.
Steelcut Flower Co provided the stunning transcendent bouquet and a touch of magic with the pomegranate for the tablescape. Candace Birger created the amazing ice, fire & throne inspired cake- complete with dragon scales and a candle throne. She took the sketch I made of the cake I had envisioned and made it come to life and then some.
