Bridal athleisure, could there be a more appropriate trend for the 2020s? We're all about comfort these days and bridal separates are definitely having their moment. They're easy to travel with, less fussy than a big gown, and, most importantly, you can and will wear them again and again. This team wanted to put a sporty twist on this growing trend and we're loving it, especially the bridal bomber jacket!
Suspiratie designed this edgy editorial and kept all of the details fun and laid-back. They teamed up with By Lolindo, who created these beautiful floral arrangements, including the shopping bag bouquet. The challenge we set for this styled shoot was to be able to elevate a sporty and casual outfit into a bridal look. We believe the future in fashion should be to seek sustainability and try to put an end to the concept of fast fashion. That’s why we think it’s a shame and waste of money that the wedding dress is only worn once in life and then stored forever in the closet. Our proposal is a less sumptuous combination, a lot more wearable, and easy to mix and match with other pieces of clothes and shoes. This way brides can get the most out of their investment. The idea is to reuse the wedding ensemble after the wedding day for everyday activities such as shopping or walking around the city. The ‘tracksuit’ is a two-piece consisting of wide pants with an elastic waistband and a cropped bomber jacket, both with different appliqués.
Underneath, and practically as a purely decorative element there is a transparent mesh bodysuit with a high neck and an encrusted rhinestone necklace. We mixed metallic elements in gold and silver and pearls to give the look a touch of elegance and fantasy. The hair adornment elevates a classic low ponytail and the bold makeup supports the fresh, modern, and uncomplicated aesthetic we were going for in the shoot. The floral design is lively, youthful, and different. The garland decorating the local market entrance reinvents the urban space making it artistic and special. The bridal bouquet, composed of Picasso eucalyptus, provides the right touch of color for an edgy and daring bride. In short, this editorial takes the simplest street style clothing and turns it into a complex and exquisite bridal look. You are one-of-a-kind, so be yourself.
