As many of you know, Dallas is known for it's traditional ballroom weddings. Although we adore a beautiful ballroom wedding, there is also a strong movement amongst Dallas brides seeking for something outside of the ballroom, that still has Southern Charm.
A great example of this, is our next inspirational shoot designed by Dallas event planner- Meggie Francisco. As you will see the day is filled with bold bright colors, all while retaining that signature southern charm.View all of the delightfully bright details in the full gallery here, captured by Letter A Photography. With tacos and lattes in hand on a rainy summer day, Ashley Turner (Letter A Photography) and I were granted the perfect creative conditions to dream up a photo shoot. Our intent: produce something original and fun that would be true to Texas brides. When we found a set of fanciful Anthropologie plates that spoke to us, we began to envision a wedding that would be perfect for the couple who only loves one thing more than a tropical vacation - and that's coming back home to Texas. The Aldredge House grounded our shoot, providing a gorgeous garden and stately stonework for a true taste of our state. From there, we brought in a team of outstanding vendors who took our vision to the next level. However, we were still ever-faithful to southern women and our addiction to crafting; I hand-made the flamingo centerpieces with satin ribbon, bamboo, and gold paint.
I hope the Erin Fetherston reception gown will help brides to open their minds to new and creative ways to relish the spotlight on their big day. Let's face it - wedding dresses are cumbersome, beautiful bustles are hard to come by, and 90% of the time in Texas, you don't have to lift a finger to break a sweat - let alone while wearing a wedding gown! Take advantage of a costume change for comfort and to show off your personality. You won't regret it.
