Soft white sand, beautiful blue ocean, gorgeous sunsets over the water... just a few of the reasons why Key West is a beautiful venue for any wedding or elopement. The natural beauty of the setting just screamed for some carefree bohemian details and this super talented group of vendors created just that.
Dare to explore the loveliness that is this Boho chic beach wedding in the full gallery here, artfully captured by Filda Konec Photography.
The idea behind this shoot came from a short visit of our friends - George and Ali. They are married couple (both born November 1980, first love, together for 15 years, married Valentine's Day 2013, one son together) and they came to visit us from the Czech Republic. I've known Ali for over 25 years (we went to elementary school together) and I know her dream was to have a small beach wedding which actually didn't happen cause they got married at the city hall last year.
So when we knew they are coming to visit Key West - the beach wedding heaven - we decided to make a styled shoot for them so they could eventually have pictures of a wedding they wished for. And we tried to make it as much budget friendly and diy as possible. The theme was bohemian with ivory/white and shades of purple colors. The whole photo shoot was just awesome and we hope it will bring some ideas and inspiration to future brides.
They are both very down to earth people. If the city law would allow it, we would also include a bonfire on the beach but since you can't do that in Key West, we made a cake that looks a little bit like bonfire. We chose Smathers Beach as our location because it is very popular place in Key West for small wedding ceremonies and elopements and it doesn't require a site fee. Plus it always provides beautiful sunsets.
The dress Ali is wearing is hand made by Karen Elleard, a very crafty friend of ours. She also made the beach "shoes" for the bride, the dream catcher for the tent, all the cushions, and the beautiful quilt.
