This maritime shoot, with the groom's flowing locks pulled up into a sleek bun and the bride's natural beauty and billowing chiffon gown, is giving us some serious Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley vibes from Pirates of the Caribbean. Hop aboard this antique boat with this gorgeous couple as they set sail for their ultimate destination wedding on the French Riviera. They arrive at Castel Bay, a grand estate on the water to find the elegant reception of their dreams. Pale blue linens and organic ceramic plates mimic the natural surroundings of this gorgeous location while gold silverware adds a touch of glamour.
We Wedding Planner planned this adventurous shoot and did an amazing job of incorporating the wild nature of the sea into the different aspects of the design, from the bride's asymmetrical gown to the groom's tousled hair and unbuttoned shirt. Lovin Fleur decorated the sailboat and the reception space with matching blush and white arrangments that are as light and airy as the sea breeze. Jeremie HKB must have had a blast shooting these non-traditional couple's portraits, especially the ones at sea. Leonardo Villiger was also there to capture the whole day on video. Read on to hear more from Jeremie HKB about how they pulled off this incredible inspiration shoot and check out the full gallery to see even more of these fabulous photos.
Today we are taking you on an inspirational shoot between land and sea. On the heights of the Castel Bay estate, the view is breathtaking over the famous Almanarre beach. Ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world by the New York Times, Almanarre beach is a 4 km stretch of fine sand and small pebbles that runs along the Route des Salins in Hyères, in the heart of the French Riviera. This young couple's adventure begins with a relaxing day on the beaches and then aboard a magnificent 24-meter sailboat, the JLDA. Built in Concarneau in 1947, it is both robust and rustic to face the Iroise Sea, but it remains soft and pleasant at sea. During this poetic trip to the sound of the sea, they confided a few sweet words before the big day.
It is in the heart of the Castel Bay estate, a bewitching “Belle Époque” style building that Lorène, the wedding planner has set up decorations in keeping with the theme of the sea. Much more than a simple wedding venue, Castel Bay offers, above all, a real experience. Every detail has been thought out to give them the day of their dreams. The view over the bay of Almanarre and the Giensest peninsula offers us a beautiful sunset every evening. In terms of decoration, we worked on pure tones, white and sky blue. The white recalls the color of the building, and the blue is the same shade of the Mediterranean and the sky of the French Riviera. The crockery in a shell motif also reinforces the marine theme.
