Did you twirl around your room as a child dreaming of one day being a ballerina? Well whether you are twirling around the stage or just your kitchen, a dream is still a dream and this lovely wedding inspiration brings this particular dream to life!
Demi Mabry Photography teamed up with some fantastic vendors to give you the perfect springtime wedding with just the right amount of ballet flair. You can see more of these fabulous photos in the full gallery below.
Our thematic concept for the shoot can be described in three words: Music. Movement. History. There is so much beauty to be found in all three. The ballerina in me wanted to celebrate the wonder of ballet and the beautiful movement that is born when the ballerina has the freedom to move with her own creativity. Much like film photography, ballet is an art form. Both are thoughtful and evoke emotion from the viewer.
The invitation suite was designed to be an inspiration for those that love a vintage flair and want to incorporate music into their wedding day. Megan with Delighted Calligraphy created the sheet music on her computer and tea-stained and hand-tore the paper to give the suite a dated feel.
The cake was meant to be wild and asymmetrical, yet tasteful and beautiful, just like the ballerina. All of the flowers on the cake and petals on the table were sugar flowers and handmade by Whisked by Cate.
We knew the shoot had to be held at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, NC, as there are years of history and elegance there to round off the thematic concept of our shoot.
