Inspired by the goddess Tanit, this team from Ibiza set out to create a shoot that celebrated feminity in all of its strength and glory. And, what could be a more appropriate venue for this shoot than Mother Nature herself? The countryside in Ibiza often takes the back seat when it comes to tourism, but now that the word's out, we think there will be many a destination wedding taking place there in the very near future. Pinks and yellows sing beautifully with the lush green landscape as the bride commands the attention of the flora and fauna with just a look.

Eco Gecko Ibiza designed and planned this shoot and brought together a fierce group of local vendors. Ibiza is a place where different cultures, beliefs, and nationalities come together as one to create a uniquely beautiful, multi-cultural, and magical vibe. It’s one of the very few places on earth that truly represents a future of unity and peace. Through our shoot, we wanted to demonstrate how easy and effortless this unity between people, nature, and cultures can be. Our wonderful island is ever-evolving, with each civilization (Phonecians, Romans, Moors, and beyond) leaving its mark on the look, spirit, and feel of Ibiza. In ancient times the people of Ibiza worshipped Tanit, the Carthaginian goddess of fertility and the moon, who was the divine protector of the women of Ibiza. She has remained deeply ingrained in the heart and spirit of Ibiza throughout the centuries and is still worshipped today. Many believe that Tanit gave (and gives) the women of Ibiza the power to achieve anything and to make their own life choices.

Our bride for this shoot is the perfect representation of Ibiza and Tanit. She is a true amalgamation of cultures and people. She is independent, classy, and sophisticated yet curious, mischievous, wild, and free-spirited. To emphasize these qualities, we added the stunning Podencos Ibizencos to the shoot. For us, these magnificent and graceful wild dogs truly represent the spirit of the island. Ancestors of the Ancient Egyptian Pharaon dogs, they have roamed free here for centuries. They love to travel and feel at home wherever they are. Much like our heroine. She is the leader of her own life–it is her life, her rules, her choices, from her way of life to the way she dresses.

For her wardrobe, she chose a sleek and stylish yet natural and simple style. The elegant dresses, by the Barcelona designer Yolan Cris, are the optimum representation of the effortless glamour, sophistication, and timelessness characterized by Ibiza and our bride. For the first look, we added an oversized floppy straw hat to the simple, form-fitting off-the-shoulder gown. This lent a touch of sophisticated, sexy carelessness reminiscent of Brigit Bardot on the French Riviera. For the second look, we used a gorgeous semi-transparent dress that is revealing but classy. Subtle but sexy. It both enhances our bride's sensuality and blends with the beauty of nature. Our heroine is truly stylish, and being stylish is not just about looks, it is about lifestyle, kindness, and treating nature and others with love and respect. We believe that the way forward for the world is to love, respect, appreciate and connect with nature in every aspect. This harmony was at the forefront of our minds when planning the shoot. We wanted to showcase our heroine and Ibiza at their finest.

The shoot just had to take place in the idyllic Ibiza countryside–often overlooked by visitors attracted to the party scene. However, the past few years have seen more and more people out exploring Ibiza’s natural attractions. Appreciating her breathtaking landscape and learning that, as fun as they are, there's so much more to the island than parties! The best of Ibizan nature came together as the backdrop for this beautiful shoot. We captured a blissful landscape in bloom–a cloud of romantic flower blossoms with the soft pastel yellow, pink, and peach shades of almond trees and mimosa and soft golden light. All sure signals of the arrival of spring on the island. This year especially, Spring heralds the happy and hopeful reawakening we all eagerly await.
