One of our Canadian wedding photographers, Tara Whittaker Photography sent us ideas for a backyard wedding. Not only do all of her wedding ideas ooze with simplicity and country charm but, they are easy to accomplish on your own with a little help of some friends.
In lieu of traditional napkins, Tara collected vintage handkerchiefs. They chose handkerchiefs that were embroidered, so they also added color and charm to the table. They can also easily double as a sweet wedding favor to remember the day.
If Lilacs happen to be in season when you are planning your wedding, here is a great tutorial that Tara used in order to make all these lovely Lilac wedding arrangements. To add that vintage element you can simply find a vintage hankie to tie around your wedding bouquet. Very easy but, simply elegant.
The Colorful pinwheels are made out of coordinating sheets of origami or lightweight paper. This easy DIY happens to be one of Martha Stewart's Good things DIY projects. You can visit this pinwheel tutorial by clicking here.
Another great way to cut back on costs is to opt to have a table filled with homemade pies in lieu of the traditional wedding cake. Ask friends and family to bake their favorite pie and bring it to the wedding. Provide some creamy vanilla ice cream and you are sure to have some satisfied guests.
Absolutely love the idea of having several tables around the area with cool refreshing beverages. This way guest do not congregate to one area for drinks. Find an old table and place a doilie over the table to spruce it up. Etsy has a ton of doilies at great prices.
Instead of just having guests mingle, why not set up some fun backyard games. We love the idea of a classic game of horseshoes or a lovely game of croquet. This is also a great option for your bridal shower.
