Think about adding warm tones into your winter wedding to give it that added bit of sunshine, ie: yellow and orange flowers, earth-tone decor, and of course a hint of gold.

We knew we wanted to plan and style this elopement in the winter, giving it a soft, romantic, elegant vibe – but though we wanted it to be woodsy, dreamy, and slightly adventurous, we wanted it to be equally as sophisticated… think like a black-tie event. Finding the balance between boho and timeless was a song and dance for sure, but we were able to stay true to our vision through a warm, earthy color palette, leaning into blushes, nudes, and muted rusts. We prioritized soft hues, dreamy cheesecloths, and bohemian accents, also adding a touch of sparkle through the wedding gown, candlesticks, and other vintage décor. All things considered, a winter elopement truly cannot be beat – from a price tag perspective, and also from the magic of pure, unadulterated winter beauty!
We had a “world drumming” class in high school together and sat just a few seats away from each other. Although we weren’t in the same grade, we shared a similar friend group which always somehow brought us around the same places. It wasn’t until we were both out of college when we finally got together in the summer of 2018. Two days (no exaggeration) into our relationship, I told Caleb that I had planned to go to graduate school in the fall for a two-year MFA program, and the kicker... half of it was spent in Düsseldorf, Germany. With absolutely no hesitation, he confidently said: “I’ll go with you”. Next thing I knew, our flight was taking off as fast as our relationship had. From the comfort of our small town to getting lost together all over Europe, we did it together. They say “home is where the heart is,” and for us, no matter where we end up in the world, we will always find ‘home’ in each other.
