It also showcases the different settings a couple can have at this venue while following COVID-19 restrictions. For this shoot I was lucky enough to work with the incredible wedding styling team We Are Gloam. For anyone getting married in Scotland, these are the supplier you absolutely must have. Not only do they style your day, they offer all the floristry, stationary designs, and furniture hire. I mean they really are the full package and oh they do such a gorgeous job.
We decided for this shoot at The Secret Herb Garden we wanted to inspire couples who are looking to go ahead with their wedding, despite coronavirus restrictions, so our layout is based on having 8 guests.
We wanted it to feel modern but cosy so we used a terracotta and dusty pink colour palette mixed with lots of candles in amongst the green wildness of the venue. The Secret Herb Garden is a venue like no other. Perfect for micro weddings, based 10 minutes out of Edinburgh city centre. The venue itself is a fully functioning Greenhouse and cafe, set within huge fields. You can choose to get married outside or in, depending on the weather and there’s endless options for your couple portraits. Its full of little nooks and crannies, so there’s plenty of options on how to set up your dining arrangements.
Being a greenhouse, it’s filled with natural light making it a dream for pictures but still cosy when the candles are lit. There really is no other venue like The Secret Herb Garden, which is why I love it so much.
The dress, part of Edinburgh’s own Olive Jones Bridal’s brand-new collection, that launched this year. I absolutely love this dress for a modern bride, with the low neckline and flattering shape and I think we can all agree those sleeves are to die for! Paired with a Rebecca Anne Designs veil, which has the most delicate floral embroidery as a nod to the venue.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions our lovely Bride had to do her own make up, but hair was styled in the gorgeous relaxed curls by the lovely Pamper And Polish Bridal.
Being in central Scotland, no Groom would be complete without a kilt, which we hired from Slanj. They have 3 stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and you can buy or hire a fully fitted suit and shoes! They have lots of tartan options and colour options, perfect for grooms who want to look the part but know they won’t wear it again.
