The wedding party attire really was meant to feel romantic, but not dated. By incorporating crystals on the wedding gown and flowers in the bridesmaids’ hair we achieved a soft, but contemporary appearance. All of the details - from the hand painted runner, to the mix of natural cotton and pheasant feathers in the flowers, to the partial “naked” cake – all migrate towards current trends and unique concepts, but stay within the prominent shabby chic feel. The overall look of down home comfort met its mate in The Round Barn venue that has been a Missouri landmark for decades. The historical significance truly brings this entire shoot together and proves that country chic doesn’t have to be full of burlap and mason jars!
A separate his and her table consisted of a manly whiskey bar with cigars, and for the girls, mini pies with freshly baked cookies and lemonade. This versatile style embodies both feminine and masculine aspects, creating the ultimate southern hospitality station. The antique linen napkins add a vintage touch and the modern glass candelabras infuse the whole look with grandeur. Instead of using taper candles, we opted for flowers in the tops of the small gold candlesticks to create a more interesting look.
