Today we are taking a journey to Northern Italy's Lake Como. We've been here a few times before, but today is extra special. We are showcasing a wedding day inspired by all the greats like - Marvel Comics, Frida Kahlo, Carsten Höller, Andi Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Get ready for a mega -dose of vibrant and colorful eye-candy that you will not want to miss. The spectacular day was photographed by an Italian wedding photographer, FTfoto and coordinated and styled by Sinfonia Wedding. The creative team was so kind as to share how much a wedding like this will cost, scroll down to see the full budget breakdown.
Please scroll down to see how this group of cutting-edge Italian wedding artists combined all these icons into one day. You can view all the images in the full gallery here.
The invite is inspired by the Italian tradition of writing on a wall to invite the whole village to the wedding. But, with a modern twist. The couple sends a photograph of the mural to friends as their wedding invitation via social media like- Facebook, Instagram, and whatsapp.
The date of the wedding is 03.10.2020. It was the start of the lockdown in Italy. We want to remember this date, for it changed everything.
The mural wedding invitation is designed by graffiti artist, Federico Zenobi and inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Federico is one of the 10 top artists in the world, and well known for his incredible wall murals. You can see more of his amazing work on his Instagram.
A wedding ceremony inspired by the playful comic book universe, Marvel. A gazebo structure was created to hold the dried floral cloud of color that the couple would say their wedding vows.
Every detail was accounted for. Take note of the comic inspired chairs that are painted in pop inspired colors.
Please look below, the chair has a WW painted on the back with a mural of wonder women painted on the seat. Keep scrolling and you will see Superman and the Hulk. It appears that Hulk's chair is aggressively punched out, which is very appropriate.
If you look very closely, you will see a green parrot is perched on Hulk's chair and ready for the wedding ceremony. I wonder if they planned that?
I love how the officiant placed the wedding rings in a magenta cockscomb flower. Incredibly smart and so artistic.
The photo booth is inspired by Carsten Höller interactive displays, where the viewer becomes immersed in the piece of art.
The creative team took this concept and created a photo booth that had several flower chains hanging from the structure. Guests would interact with the free flowing-florals while taking fun photos. The art of Andy Warhol inspires the pop-art displayed around the photo-booth.
The layout of the table will be inspired by the intense colors that Frida Kahlo used in her paintings. The vibrant colors used in the wedding reception come across via the bold floral arrangements designed by Italian wedding florist, Riccardo Ciceri.
The creative team created an indoor jungle that surrounded the table with various plants like ferns and giant palms.
The couple ended the evening with an outfit change and a silent disco. A silent disco is where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcast via a radio transmitter with the signal being picked up by wireless headphone receivers worn by the participants
