A Delicious Take On How To Incorporate Pantone’s Color(s) Of The Year Into Your Wedding

A Delicious Take On How To Incorporate Pantone's Color(s) Of The Year Into Your Wedding

We have to say, this year's Pantone colors certainly live up to their names, and this color-forward styled shoot is proof. Illuminating Yellow lights up your screen while Ultimate Gray evens out the palette with a warm earthy tone. To put their own twist on this year's trending colors, this team decided to look to the 60s for their inspiration. With mod makeup looks and a pony that would make Ariana Grande jealous, the 60s influence shines bright!

Glasshouse Studios is a classically beautiful venue with light chevron wood floors and glowing white walls, which really made the yellow pop! Raluca Topliceanu made sure that at least one of the main colors was in each photo giving the entire shoot a perfect cohesion that is oh so nice to look at! Jubilee Luxury Events Co designed and organized this shoot down to every last detail and Lula King Photo And Film was there to get it all on video. Bloomberry & Co. amped up the yellow with bright blooms and festive fruits and they are absolutely everywhere! To see more from this fun shoot, check out the full gallery. THE COLORS OF THE YEAR

We present to you “ZARD”, a lush, flower-filled micro wedding ceremony and reception setup for couples who still want big impact and style on an intimate scale. In 2021, Pantone announced that the colors of the year were Illuminating Yellow and Ultimate Gray. Yellow, especially during a time like this, has been a reminder of brighter days, and the gray gives it a soft chic balance. We were inspired by the cheerfulness of the color yellow, with gray accents to ground the look, beautifully merging the Pantone colors of the year with a slight nod to 60s style and fashion. Our bride wears three different designer gowns (Monique Lhuillier, Berta, and Jennifer Behr via White Couture), each with their own unique flair. Paying homage to the culture of the bride and groom, “Zard” is “yellow” in Farsi to represent their Persian heritage. We meticulously planned the details down to the custom menu with stunningly plated courses, signature cocktails, and yellow-themed sweets on pedestals.

BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN

Our micro-wedding setup was shot at an elegant studio in Richmond Hill, Glasshouse Studios. It is a beautiful white space designed with white crown moldings and a newly installed grand chandelier in the main space. Our couple was greeted with a low modern welcome sign embellished with a graceful yellow ribbon by Red Bicycle Paper Co. Our objective with floral designer Bloomberry & Co. was to bring the outdoors in. We created a garden feel centered around the grand chandelier fixture, lush greens, and vibrant yellow blooms, in an open circle structure surrounded by organic wood chairs provided by furniture and tableware provider Simply Beautiful Decor.

SETTING THE SCENE

The bride enters with the Monique Lhuillier 'Brie' dress, a soft 60s inspired tea-length dress with polka dots, covered with a jewel-trimmed cape, provided by White Toronto. We decided to have the hair, by Sonia Singh of Blend Studios, in a 60s high pony with a custom tulle bow veil by Shantelle Frater. Lastly, we had Prerna & Co. do a soft 60s Ariana Grande-inspired makeup look. The Groom is dressed in a tailored gray-brown suit with an oatmeal vest and white turtleneck, provided by Got Style menswear. The final look embodied the 60s influence of “Sex Kitten” hair. The gown is 'Muse' by Berta, paired with a custom jeweled headband by Shantelle Frater, and crystal earrings by Jennifer Behr topped off with a peachy eye and winged liner. We also get a glimpse of the vintage round diamond by Alexis Gallery

A COLORFUL MENU

The main reception room has a modern setup by Blue Rose Decor And Party Rentals and Bloomberry & Co. There was an array of yellow sweets and a custom-edged white cake with green and yellow sugar florals by Cake Creations By M, and clear and white plinths set in front of a chic white paneled backdrop surrounded by more exquisite florals. For cocktail hour, the couple sipped custom cocktails such as, 'Lemon Get You A Drink'-Smoke Bullet bourbon whisky, and honey, with a splash of burnt citrus served in vintage glassware and nibbled on hors d'oeuvres like the 'Spring Forward Crostini-candied yellow beets, goat’s milk ricotta, and champaign balsamic reduction. For the second course, they feasted on butter-poached salmon, Israeli curried couscous, sweet bell pepper, roasted zucchini, grilled white asparagus, and citrus beurre blanc all plated on gray stoneware plates from Simply Beautiful Decor.

AN AROMATIC TABLESCAPE

The main table is dressed in an 'Ultimate Gray' velvet linen, with modern 60s style tableware, yellow glassware with an accent gray water glass. The name cards are minimalist in the center of the plate. We used florals, candles, and fruit on the table as centerpieces to keep the setting aromatic, elegant, and fun. This setting is sure to inspire couples looking for a sweet micro wedding setup that’s a combination of chic, luxury, and organic fun.
