Cherry Blossom Wedding: Blush & Fuchsia Blooms in a Whimsical Barn
Inspired by the gorgeous shades of ephemeral cherry blossoms, this shoot featured blush and fuschia blooms and a beautiful gown with 3-D floral details that mimic falling petals. The fact that they didn't have access to cherry trees didn't stop this team, they made their own. The ceremony was framed by two floral tree installations. Then, the couple moved inside to their all-white barn venue for an elegant reception.
Lisa Khan was determined to make her inspiration a reality and knew just the right team for the job. Lena's Floral Design worked tirelessly to create these unique floral installations and arrangements that really do give the effect of cherry trees in bloom. Braestone Farm is the perfect venue for this whimsical inspiration. Its all-white interior keeps the look bright and airy, as seen in these photos by Magna Arnott Photography. INSPIRATION STRUCK
When I first began to brainstorm about the next inspirational shoot I wanted to produce, cherry blossoms were the first thing that came to mind. I thought to myself where will I get these huge trees? I had to do a lot of research to find exactly what I wanted. It was important to find a real couple due to the pandemic, it just made the most sense because they would be so close while taking photos. The bride and groom models actually got married six days before the styled shoot which I found out shortly after. Priya and Elijah were super fun to be around.
FINDING THE RIGHT FLORALS
The florals used were roses, Leptospermum, dahlia, and peonies. I wanted to have a mixture of blush and fuschia pink to add a little boldness and vibrancy to the shoot. It was so important for me to find the right cherry blossom trees. Our floral designer inserted Leptospermum into the ground for the outdoor ceremony setup which in the end left a very natural look like it was grown out of the ground. Breastone barn is an all-white room filled with endless possibilities. I knew that the idea I had in mind would work, I wanted to incorporate a head table and guest table tablescape that had gold, vintage accents, and much more. I wanted to showcase that barn weddings can also have a chic and modern luxurious feel.
CUSTOM TOUCHES AND UNIQUE PHOTO OPS
We had music sheets made on hand-torn paper with pink ink. RSVP cards, main invitations, and name cards were all hand-torn, there is something romantic about this look. We had a live harpist on set and the video from the videographer features all of the live music played on the actual day. Having the bride and groom model get inside the boat is just another thing that makes this venue stand out, they have a beautiful pond where you can take pictures around it and inside the boat. The boat allows for intimate pictures that are very romantic.
