For real, if this fine art editorial doesn't make you want to fly out to the Emerald City and have a solo bridal shoot, we don't know what would! In Seattle, the summers are short, but the weather is some of the most divine in the world. This late August shoot was inspired entirely by the warmth and purity of nature in the Pacific Northwest. With the sun shining in the sky, the quiet lake and the green mountain scape in the background proved a comely canvas for this bride and her free and easy energy.

Grand Event Rentals, L and L Events and Rentals, and Seattle Farm Tables came together to bring beautiful staging to the light and airy in-wood wild beside Rattlesnake Lake. This styled shoot is without a doubt one of our favorites of all time: it shows how peaceful the world can be with its bright, yet touching colors of coral, yellow, and orange. We wanted everything to be eye-catching, but also subtle and serene to match the stillness in Seattle right before sunset. The color contrast of the grass field and evergreen trees against the warm yellow hues perfectly encapsulated the late summer feel of the Pacific Northwest and a secluded Rattlesnake Lake.
The bride's dress was from the Calandra Collection, made by Rish Bridal. It's a soft A-line gown with beautiful oversized floral lace, a plunging neckline, side cutouts, and a low V-shaped back. The natural waistline and plunging neckline draw the waist in and elongate the body. The gown looked stunning with a soft, undone updo and a sparkling headpiece - other accessories were simply not needed, because the bride's visage was so strong on its own.
The original concept was to use elements that could be found in the indigenous PNW landscape. We used in-season flowers, including dahlias, butterfly ranunculus, as well as exquisite garden roses like the Juliet Peach, Cafe Latte, and Effie Gold. We also brought in popping colors from Parrot Tulips to balance the design with both neutral and dynamic color tones. Additional flowers included white larkspur, lisianthus, and sweet peas, which added another layer of softness to the floral arrangements. The bridal bouquet featured a long velvet yellow ribbon, which perfectly resonated with the chiffon texture on the bride's wedding dress, while also adding a scent of vintage style to the overall shoot.
The cake from Lady Grey Seattle was specially tailored to our design, with a neutral and elegant paintbrush touch on a double-tiered simple off-white cake. Matching cake pops and cupcakes were confectioned by Hollywood Baked Goods and presented on marble stone/gold metal handle serving plates.
The invitation was also specially designed for our shoot by Perfect Press Invitations, using a harmonizing bright yellow and pale pink palette. An antique white color wax seal added a layer of mystery and elegance to the overall design. Menus and name cards were created in matching colors, and styled with dry white Italian Ruscus - for a tabletop setting with so many can't-miss details.
