Inspired by two butterflies dancing around each other than in Japanese culture it is a symbol of marital happiness. Hence my inspiration for this intimate wedding (12 people) for Beatrice and Thomas. The wedding story takes place on Lake Como shores at Villa Cipressi , a beautiful hotel located in Varenna with a breathtaking view and set within a beautiful and well-kept botanical garden. As a wedding planner, I wanted to inspire brides who want to get married in Italy trying to convey to them the possibility of not only having their big day in our beautiful country but making the wedding even more made in Italy. For this reason I have chosen the extraordinary Neapolitan couturier FERDINANDO Borrelli, aka Ferdinand Concept, as wedding and ceremony dresses designer for the bridal party, who thanks to his talent has created unique pieces using fine fabrics and great craftsmanship. The bridesmaids' dresses, all coordinated and in a Tiffany blue, each had applied butterflies as well as the wedding dress…a princely dress that all little girls dream of when they are little. Ferdinand is not just a stylist, he follows the bride at 360 degrees, first starting the study of the image, the choice of materials, the creation of the dress up to conceiving a service tout court. Ferdinand follows the bride on the wedding day not only helping her in dressing her but also preparing her in the hair and make-up service. The same service was also performed for the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride thanks to his team of 5 beautiful make-up artists and hairdressers. The Groom’s Suit, on the other hand, is by Emporio Armani and sold by Tessabit Como; the silk bow tie from Como is instead by InComo srl. The ceremonial arch is not a "simple" arch as we usually see, round, rectangular, triangular.
I wanted to purposely build an amazing back drop for the civil ceremony with two real butterfly wings so that the couple, once in front of each other to exchange their vows, would become in the first person a symbol of marital happiness as expressed by the Japanese culture. The chosen colors reflected the meaning of freedom and peace, a real rainbow perfectly represented by every detail. In addition to this I had the desire to express lightness, for this reason the wings were expertly decorated by Chiara of The Garden of Love using mainly gypsophila and recalling only in some points of the wings (the so-called “eyes”) fresh seasonal flowers such as tulips, buttercups and anemones. The aisle was also designed with ground compositions of colored and shaded gypsophila only to ensure that the young bride's path towards her betrothed gave a sense of freedom and new life. With Chiara we have decided as well to use biodegradable materials for floral arrangements because of the importance of attention to our planet.
The jewels made in Como by the skilled hands of Roca Wood Jewelry have embellished everything thanks to their yellow and white gold wedding rings, the engagement ring and the beautiful earrings for the bride perfectly in palette. DEMAS Sposi the only retailer in Italy of Bella Belle Shoes gave us the opportunity to have two beautiful wedding shoes for the bride that were perfect in the all wedding style. For the table I was inspired by spring, by nature that awakens, always keeping the colors decided in the project and Chiara created amazing composition for the imperial table as well.
Thanks to Tableset Luxury Rentals and its fabulous mise-en-place and thanks to Luxury Noleggio’s chairs, I was able to bring to life what I had in mind. Even the lounge corner, with the beautiful and elegant Luxury Noleggio’s sofas, made the aperitif time elegant and comfortable. Clara In Jazz and her quintet delighted us with her voice throughout the reception while two violinists accompanied the wedding ceremony and after party was entertained by a DJ. On the lake, a beautiful boat tour cannot be missing and thanks to Menaggio Water Limousine the newlyweds were able to enjoy a beautiful journey at sunset. Elisa of Bee In Love was able to create a coordinated graphic that reflected the theme and style of the event by creating the complete stationery, from the invitations to the menus. The romantic fairy lights curtain on top of the wedding table as well as fairy lighting inside our beautiful wings, after party light design and sound system was carefully followed by LK Event srl. I decided to reuse the wings as Cake Cutting backdrop scenography lighting them up! The amazing wedding cake by Pasticceria Ramperti is always a certainty. All this magic was extraordinarily captured by the wonderful and romantic photographs of Valentina Oprandi and the exciting video filmed by Marco De Nigris, two professionals with whom I loved working.
