My wedding day was amazing; I can still remember all of the standouts and subtleties about the day, and I’ll never be able to get over how perfect my bridal makeup was. It was hands down the favorite part of my bride visage, and I owe it all to my incredible makeup artist, Melissa D’Aloia (have to give her a shoutout, because I wouldn’t have been the bride I was without her). She just did the absolute most with my airbrush and my eyes, and my lashes, my highlights, and my lips. And I couldn’t have imagined a more stunning bridal glow if I tried.
Yah, there’s a reason why brides hire glam squads for the wedding.
In any case, I actually got married nearly 4 months to the day after Kim K and Kanye got married in Italy, and I vividly remember rifling through every beauty resource I could find to sleuth out all the details on her bridal makeup. Unlike other Kim K red carpet debuts, wherein her makeup was next-level kind of edgy, her “I Do” look was soft and subdued, but fiercely feminine. Lots of blush, taupe, and cream tones, and hints of champagne-hued sparkle. It was just so good. SO. GOOD. Her longtime glam guy, Mario Dedivanovic, did an insane job, because it wasn’t over-the-top. He could recognize the high key nature of the rest of the wedding (at a legendary fort in Florence, NBD), and let his girl shine on her own. Which she did.
Well, anyway, I was obsessed with her reception lips - she had the perfecttttt pinky-nude pout that wasn’t totally matte, but not excessively glossy either, and I needed to have one just like it. From my seriously-stalkery snooping, I found out that it was actually a $13 L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gloss in Nude Ballet, and it was one of my most prized wedding-day possessions, I kid you not. They don’t make it anymore, but I still have mine in one of my clutches, and it’s kind of enshrined at this point….
Had my wedding been this upcoming September, though, I would 100% set all my alarm clocks and iCal reminders to go to KKWBeauty.com on 5/24 and buy the ‘inspired by HER best day ever 5.24” brand new Mrs. West Collection. Everything in it is just too pretty, and since the rose gold, blush, cosmetic neutrals trend for bridal beauty will never go out of style, really, never, we’re expecting alllllll the 2019 brides to go nuts over this unveiling.
For just $100 (in case you’re a bridesmaid, and want to give your bride-to-be an extra special bridal shower or ‘wishing well’ gift… glam goes well with gadgets, right?!?!!)
Features a 6-pan eyeshadow palette, a pink nude lipstick, a warm nude lip liner, a blushing nude gloss, a champagne gold highlighter and a mid-tone pink blush.
We needed to call out the palette, gloss, highlighter, and blush, because the descriptions give us ALL the bridey feels!!
“Palette is formulated specifically for easy layering and blending. Matte shadows provide a creamy powdery finish in an array of universal neutrals to add depth to any eye look. The buttery smooth metallic shadows glide on effortlessly and provide a saturated pearlized finish. The shadows can be used wet or dry, with brushes or fingers, providing versatility to your favorite makeup look.”
“The high shine gloss that can be worn alone or with your favorite lipstick or lip liner. The Soulmate Gloss gently glides over your favorite lipstick for a smooth and ultra-glossy finish. Begin application at the center of the lips and then blend outward for a high-shine finish.”
“The highlighter blends flawlessly and melts into the skin, leaving you luminous all day. The soft and silky texture of the pressed highlighters allow for an effortless application to cheekbones, cupid's bow, nose, corners of the eyes and any areas you want to add radiant luminosity and shimmer.”
10 days brides, just 10 days until the Wests celebrate 5 years and just 10 days till launch…. You can hold out, right?! If it means Kimmy K kind of pretty for your perfect day?
