The palm trees certainly swayed at Cambria and Will's gorgeous seaside wedding. With the help of her parents and pinterest, the bride envisioned a rustic organic inspired day, with a plant-based vegan menu and pretty floral bridesmaid dresses. Of course, no dress was as pretty at the brides stunning Hayley Paige gown with a lace top and ruffle skirt.
One of our favorite details? Their boho sweetheart table complete with a “Happily Maui’d” sign and macrame hanging. From the bride: Will talked me into waking up too early to hike to the top of Saddleback, the highest peak in Orange County. It was about 16 miles round trip, and when we reached the top, he set up the camera to take a picture of us. When he came over to stand next to me, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I then, pretty much skipped/jogged down the mountain.
We got married on the beautiful island of Maui. It has always been a dream of mine to not only get married in Hawaii, but to live there. It has always been a very special place for my family, so when I met someone who had the same love for it, it was never even a question.
I wanted the wedding to reflect our style, which is more rustic and organic. I found a lot of my inspiration on pinterest and knew I wanted most of the focus on the wood and floral elements. Because my bridesmaids' dresses were floral, I stuck with fairly neutral flower and linen colors. I was thrilled with how everything came together.
Something we're both very passionate about is living a plant based lifestyle, so naturally our entire wedding was vegan. We had an amazing four-course meal prepared for us by our friends at the Andaz Maui, complete with delicious passed hors d'oeuvres, a donut bar, and a red velvet cake. Nothing was missed!
When two of our planners fell through due to conflict, they told every vendor we had planned to use, not to work with us. It was a bummer and we had to start from scratch, but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. My parents and I took on all of the planning ourselves, and we had a blast! It was really nice to be able to make it my own, and made the entire process more special. We picked out everything, from the place settings to the gift bags. Etsy was our best friend!
My advice to couples beginning their planning process is that there's no need to rush. Enjoy the whole wedding planning process, because (hopefully) you're only going to get to do it once. No matter how overwhelming or stressful it can seem, take in every second, emotion and celebration. Everyone will tell you how fast it all flies by, and they are so right!
