This beautiful photo session in Italy turned surprise engagement is what fairytales are made of. William, the modern day prince every girl will soon swoon over, wanted to surprise his beautiful girlfriend with a romantic trip to Varenna. With help of stylists and planners from Benevent Planner, it was flawless from beginning to end!
The over the top details throughout this shoot add to the the fairytale feeling. Like Simona's stunning flower bonnet, flower belt and dreamy blush dress. As if that wasn’t enough, they even stopped for a romantic picnic on the dock before heading off for the biggest surprise of all. From Irene Fucci: This love session turned proposal with Simona and William has a special place in my heart. They live in the States, but Simona is from Italy, so when they came to visit her family in the Como lake region, they decided to have a photo session with me (lucky me!). But William wanted to surprise his beloved. So he got in touch with Elena and Anna (wedding planner and stylist from Benevent Planner) and organized something special for her.
She knew she had to arrived at Como dock at 7:30 am, wearing a long dress and that's all she knew. So when she arrived she found me and Elena with an amazing flower hat (by Chiara Sperti) and a message for her "See you in Varenna. W". We then took the boat and arrived in this tiny, colorful village called Varenna where William was waiting for her.
And then the fun started: they explored the village, had a walk hand in hand, had fun playing and dancing in the streets and picnicked on a small green dock. They both work for a catering, so food has a special place in their lives. They had a break to enjoy typical Italian salami, cheeses, fruits and canapés - not to mention- the stunning cake by Lisa Bakery!
Finally we moved to this ancient bridge to take "some final pictures at sunset" when William proposed and asked Simona to be his wife and wear this ring made in Italy by My Golden Age. It was such a sweet, perfect moment with the sun setting, the wind blowing and a ferry-boat on the background. As a photographer, I couldn't ask for more
