"How do you measure a year?", a question that is more appropriate now than ever...and a lyric from this bride-to-be's favorite song. Jacob, her now fiance´, came up with the sweetest proposal idea and found the perfect team to execute his vision. A proposal is a life event, so why not plan it like you do so many of the others? It can still be intimate and low-key (like this one), but having a plan and, more importantly, having a photographer there to document every moment is an investment that we guarantee you won't regret!
Odessa James Photography captured the big moment and all of the special ones that followed. Katie's Blooms created this amazing living floral installation. You can see all the images in the full gallery. Read on to hear more from jewelry designer, Chelsea Mead of Honey Designs Jewelry, about this adorable proposal and the custom-designed ring!
"In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee..." Jacob was inspired by one of Rebecca's favorite songs, "Seasons of Love", from the Broadway production of Rent, as well as her love for the fall season. When we talked about the engagement ring designing process, he shared how he was very thoughtful with gifting and definitely wanted not only the ring but the proposal to be as special as Rebecca is.
Keeping the theme of "Seasons of Love" in mind, we wanted to create a surprise moment for Rebecca in a spot of town that was special to them. Jacob & Rebecca lived in a unique neighborhood in Cincinnati known as Mount Adams, which has a couple of areas where you can overlook the whole city. There was a particular spot that was special to them, where they would regularly walk their two good boy doggos.
On the day of their proposal, they parked at the top of a hill that led down to a local coffee shop, Bow Tie Cafe, where we had a lettering artist from Honeybee Creative write the lyrics to the song down a statement outdoor staircase, where they would pick up coffees along the way. Continuing their walk ultimately led them to their special overlook where we set up a romantic fall floral lounge with furniture from Queen City Vignette and these incredible live floral letters by Katie's Blooms. The lounge was completed with a personal touch of a framed photo of the two of them from each of the four seasons. After Jacob popped the question, they were joined by family and their cute dogs. They celebrated with a champagne toast and had a romantic dinner at a Cincy favorite, Sotto. It was the perfect fall scenic day for everyone involved.
