Over the last few weeks, we’ve been listening and learning - something that we all should have been doing well before anything awful precipitated it. We’ve been working hard to amplify Black voices and showcase the incredible work of BIPOC tastemakers in the ‘I Do’ industry. Still, we’ve only scratched the surface. This will be an ongoing effort for us here at Wedding Chicks, and we’re beyond lucky to have such understanding allies and partners on board throughout this maturation process. So, today, we wanted to spotlight the skills and star power of Black wedding pros in our own neck of the woods: the beautiful, creative, endlessly adventurous Pacific Northwest (if you didn’t know already, Wedding Chicks is based in Boise, ID!)
It’s true, nowadays so many vendors are jumping into the destination wedding game and bringing their talents anywhere that true love takes them. Meaning, if you want to get married in the Pacific Northwest (such a good choice BTW 😉) without having to lock in a primarily PNW-based team, you can certainly do so. You definitely won’t be disappointed, though, if you look into the following photographers, planners, and all around aisle-ready artists who are headquartered here; their stunning work and stellar reputations precede them, and we’re big fans, so that counts for something, at least!
Whether you’ve already got a date set or just got your ring and haven’t switched into full #recon mode yet, these are the people you’ll want to have on your radar. Check out their websites (their ‘about me’ pages are great ways to learn more about who they are and what they’re like to work with), peruse their portfolios and galleries, peep their social pages, hit the follow button and double tap whatever makes you happy ❤️.
And if you’re a Black-owned/Black-run wedding business who we haven’t met yet, please let us know! We’re always up to make more friendors!!
