It was a long time coming to have our laundry room done. I wanted a farmhouse laundry room and my husband had said for Mother's Day we would get it done so I patiently waited. We purchased our home 3 years ago and before that the house was neglected completely so we are remodeling room by room. On Mother's day weekend we headed over to Lowe's and found the perfect mixture of browns from butcher countertop. We also purchased paint for the walls since the original color was a yellowish brown that I did not like.
This is the before picture before we started painting, the wall color made it seem so dark and sad. So we chose a white/gray semi gloss paint. We covered all the holes we left with the old shelving and added floating shelving instead. My husband made sure measuring and everything was leveled.
After taping, caulking, finishing the shelving and painting this is what my farmhouse laundry room looks like! The paint made a huge difference and I believe the semi gloss allows more light to come in because it bounces back. I love organization so I found all these cute natural seagrass baskets. For accents I added a cute baby blue eucalyptus plant, aloe vera plant and pampas grass.
The area where I place the arrangement there's a receptacle outlet so this arrangement was a great cover up. Next to it I added hot and cold vintage porcelain faucets I found at a vintage store.
The dirty clothes baskets are from Target and the design is so perfect for the room. Overall I love how everything turned out and I am excited to have a great counter top.
