Don’t get us wrong, Kansas City taking home last night’s win was epic in its own right. And we could watch Patrick Mahomes and his girlfriend being cute, covered in confetti, for days. But let’s be honest, unless you were Eric Stonestreet or a diehard KC fan since birth, your favorite thing about Super Bowl LIV probably happened at halftime. Shakira started the flames, but J.Lo just brought pure 🔥🔥🔥.
Being that our girl loveeees her some Versace, of course the design house showed up with a killer ensem for the stage. You know, the Hustler-style hot outfit(s) that had everyone picking their jaws up off the floor? Yep, these designers know whatsup.
So, we went back to the atelier’s feed to get the full rundown on what was going on with those looks - and here goes:
“Friend of the House @jlo performs at the #SuperBowl in a nude-illusion bodysuit crafted from sheer tulle, strategically embroidered in a mosaic pattern. #AtelierVersace's master embroiderers have enriched this costume with Swarovski crystals, micro-materials, metallic leather inserts and lustrous plastic elements that reflect light. The exceptional outfit took over 700 hours of work to complete and is paired with matching gloves and ankle boots.”
“@jlo's silver-toned bodysuit exemplifies #AtelierVersace's dedication to hand-craftsmanship. The garment creation starts by manually twisting signature Metal Mesh and then beading clear, white and silver Swarovski crystals into a fringe. The metallic fringe is then hand-sewn onto a tulle base and enriched with Crystal Mesh and leather bondage-inspired belts.”
Now, we haven’t ever thought about wedding gowns with the words ‘leather bondage-inspired belts’ in the back of our minds, but there’s certainly something to be said about a wedding vibe that’s super sexy.
We can only imagine how many brides are currently at work (#notworking), picking apart elements of J.Lo’s costume that could work for their own wedding day fashion.
The fringe, the nude illusion detailing, the Swarovski crystal embroidering, even the statement gloves. These trends are some of our faves, so we did a scan of the Gram and found some really great looks that have that J.Lo level of fire without being too too revealing.
And we’re obsessed.
