We’re going to keep this intro short, because Lady Gaga never needs an introduction, ever. But by a show of hands, who else absolutely loved her look for the SAG Awards last night??!!?! We’ve logged WAY too much screen time in the last 12+ hours, just so we could peep every picture that has been posted of the ASIB star and her Marilyn Monroe-inspired moment on the red (well, silver, technically) carpet. And we can bet that every bride who has ever dreamed about channeling Mother Monster for their own wedding day took her epic showing at the SAGs as their cue to say ‘I Do’ with true Gaga grace and poise.
While we wouldn’t say that being called an ‘enigma’ is what every bride hopes for her wedding day. If she can pull off something like this… she deserves it and it’s kind of the highest honor/title to achieve.

We learned pretty quickly that LG’s “frayed-edge ivory taffeta gown” was a pick straight off the runway - literally just (as in last week) debuted on the Dior Spring-Summer 2019 Haute Couture catwalk in Paris. And everything about it was outstanding - like the phenom herself - including her signature Old Hollywood glam beauty inspo and her choice of timeless, yet totally of-the-moment jewelry. Her Tiffany & Co. earrings (with butterfly wings as their muse) and gold and platinum frame choker looked incredible with her oxblood, moody lips, sparkling eyes, and side-swept hairdo. Oh! And we dig the plunge and the frayed detailing of her dress, but our favorite part is that crazy-high skirt slit.
It’s something so fashion-edge-forward, such that it isn’t exactly familiar territory to traditional brides, but who said that was an issue? Anti-brides, this one’s for you…. And basic brides, you can get in on it, too; especially if you’re normally afraid to show some skin, but for your wedding day, want to do something entirely unexpected.

We didn’t even want to TRY to find Dior-rivaling looks, because nothing competes, really. But we still found some gowns that feature similar kinds of slits, and they’re all suuuuuper pretty.
