We’ve seen our fair share of fabulous wedding fetes and stunning styled shoots, each one better than the next, but Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly’s forest wedding this past Saturday might just have them all beat ((sorry, not sorry!)). Photography by Natalie Barrett Shelton. From her insanely gorgeous, wild and cascading bouquet, to her handsome horse who made a few appearances in pictures and all the social media love the new Mrs. (and her hunky hubby) shared with adoring fans, Kacey’s day was a shining example of rustic romance and wedding and relationship goals all wrapped up in one.
You could tell how off-the-wall excited Kacey was to take the next step with her love just by following her Instas after the magical weekend. The country chanteuse set the stage by first posting a dimly lit photo of her bridal bouquet (and it’s hanging ribbons) beside her sink and a captain that read “The sweet morning after the most unbelievably magical night. Wish I could live in yesterday forever.” From there, she followed up with four more photos detailing the day: their first walk down the aisle as man and wife, a silent embrace in the clearing of the forest, kisses covered in confetti, and an artistic shot of the drop-dead gorgeous bride and her steadfast steed, Mismo.
Looking through Kacey’s perfect kaleidoscopic lense literally made us feel like this wasn’t even a wedding, but an awe-inspiring styled shoot that couples everywhere could share with their wedding vendors and recreate for their own nuptials. Here were a few of the things that reminded us of a styled aesthetic, and for real, we’d get married over and over again if we could just incorporate one of them each time we tied the knot.

Kacey and Ruston are both musicians, but they could probably moonlight as models after their wedding day. She rocked a figure-hugging, full-sleeve, lace gown with a plunging neckline and low back and kept her hair long and tousled beneath her fingertip veil. He donned a killer emerald green velvet tuxedo jacket and charcoal pants that could totally grace the glossy pages of GQ. Basically, their ensems were 💣 💣 💣. And then when you consider how cleverly coordinated their bridal party was, girls in green, guys in black with green bow ties, well, it gives us chills.

No matter how many times we go back to their feeds, we can’t help but obsess over the floral finishing touches. Seriously, Bows and Arrows Flowers, please post more pics of your genius. We’re dying. Kacey’s bouquet was beyond #bridegoals. Featuring flowers in kindred colors of white, yellow, lavender and pale pink, the cascading collection was as trendy as it was timeless. And yah, don’t think we forgot about the horse’s mane all-done-up in coordinating flowers. OMG.

From the colorful confetti that was captured post-I Dos to the posing with a animal shot (even though it was Kacey’s own), these motifs are so on-point and everything a rustic/rural shoot needs to show some edge. The confetti shower not only adds some serious ambiance, it makes Kacey and Ruston’s love feel so real and palpable. Like they’re the only two in the world. Their obvious chemistry is definitely something a styled shoot can’t guarantee… .
What we loved about these two songbirds making it official, though, were their complimentary we-just-got-married posts and from-the-heart captions that chronicled the weekend’s wonderment. Really, if you have a few extra minutes, take a gander at how these soulmate singers talk about each other. It’s ah-dorable.
