That’s right, while it wasn’t #tbt, former Girls star Allison Williams posted an adorable throwback photo on Instagram earlier this week to celebrate her second wedding anniversary to CollegeHumor founder, Ricky Van Veen.
Sharing a now-and-then photo of the gorgeous, all-white, four-tier wedding cake from her wedding on September 19th 2015, side by side with an obvious shot of the saved top tier, all forked up, Allison’s caption clued her adoring fans into a little secret. The couture-looking confection was actually none other than every #basicbitch’s favorite: Pillsbury boxed Funfetti cake with store-bought frosting!!
She wrote, "Turns out, if your wedding cake is made with ingredients from a box per your demands (store-bought funfetti and frosting), it's still delicious even two years later—after you forget to eat it on your first anniversary.”
Yup, she served her guests a super lowkey and loved-up dessert at her Wyoming wedding way back when, and saved the goods to have with her honey a year (well, in her case, two) later, proving that she is ALL. OF. US. Funfetti plus time-honored wedding traditions = 😍 . And for those of you at home with a Funfetti obsession, you can rest assured that if you go with the boxed stuff for your big day, you’ll have deliciousness for years to come.
And if you’re fans of colored confetti in your cake, but would prefer to upgrade from Pillsbury, then maybe you can DIY it with the help of Duff Goldman and Chef’d. The arbiter of all things sweet just teamed up with the meal delivery kit service to bring BIG celebration cakes to life. While the wedding cake kit sold out in beyond record time, hopefully it’ll be back in business soon and the crafty brides among you can get your cake on!
If nothing else… we can just keep scrolling through these festive Funfetti-inspired cakes!
