3 Reasons We Want Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Lingerie RN
There’s obvi lots of reasons why we ❤️ Rihanna. Not just for her impeccable bridesmaid style or fanny pack-wearing fame… but thanks to last night, we can add ‘she’s an effing lingerie goddess’ to the list of loves. RiRi shut down NYFW with a Savage X Fenty lingerie show that was absolutely flawless. And when we say flawless, we actually mean that classic interpretations of imperfection were embraced in every way, shape, and form. It was seriously so good, so empowering, so inspiring, that I could watch all of the tagged videos and posts on Insta and still feel like my day was productive.

Soooo, the show was definitely a little out there - reminiscent of Eden + Pandora - but in good ways, of course. You got a sense that these women were the ones who made it to the future, because they were fierce AF. They could walk out of a waterfall, obscured by palm leaves, and look like they were just walking into a new day. With a bra (or no bra at all) and a great pair of panties, who wouldn’t feel like that? And the models were an amazingly-lit blend of young, old, short-haired, long-haired, red-haired, blue-haired, green-haired, thin, curvy, short, tall, black, white, Bella and Gigi 🎤dropppp)…There was no red tape (just some red hot looks), no restrictions, no #youcantsithere mentality. The collection itself ranges from XS-3X and 32A to 44DD. Inclusivity ✔️
Pregnant women are queens.
When I was pregnant, I definitely loved my bump, and felt proud and powerful with my babe growing inside. But I wouldn’t say I felt all kinds of sexy, slash I don’t think I everrrr thought of lingerie. I just remember an awkward trip to Victoria’s Secret with my huge, hormone-driven boob growth and a desperate need to size up with my bras. Watching this show, though, I have an insaneeee appreciation for preggos and can honestly say that when I’m knocked up again, I would love to rock something like this Geo Mesh Teddy. Slay slay slayyyy, girl.
Green, pink, purple, blue and leopard are the new black.
Yes, we all love a good white-grey-nude-and-black palette for lingerie, but who hasn’t ever dreamed about putting on some poison ivy-green fishnets and feeling like 🔥🔥🔥for a night? This collection kind of brings out every woman’s inner animal, superhero, alter ego, in a way that’s playful, sexy, and temptressy. It’s fun. It’s straight up fun, and doesn’t feel forced. With lingerie, even stripping down can make a woman feel like she needs to impress, but this range doesn’t feel that way. You can either rock the lace and satin with glitter on your eyes, or go completely fresh-faced, and save the glitter for your ✨in the bedroom… In any case, whether you want something sassy and ruffled, or just a no BS T-shirt bra, you can have it. And it will look incredible.
