As much as I love bridal gowns, and I do, a lot, I’m actually even more excited about bridesmaids dresses. 1) Because I love pastels, cosmetic hues, and neutrals, and great bridesmaids options start there. 2) Because I love being able to make good on the lie that every bride tells her girls to get the dress she wants, ‘oh, it’s such a versatile style, it can be worn again, promise!🤞’ 3) Because bridesmaids buys are infinitely cheaper than wedding gowns… I can get down with dresses under $300, for sure…. And under $200, pssssh I’m dying. Plum Pretty Sugar has always, always, always been on my radar, because it’s a brand that knows itself SO well - and it shows when you see all of the gorgeousness you can get your hands on. And I’m currently more-than obsessed with the new styles up on their site RN.
If you’re not already following PPS on Insta, go do that, but if you are, you’ve probably seen everything I’m talking about - rompers, jumpsuits, cold-shoulder, halters and skirt slits that are so good, and robes (that work as cover ups, too), in the most feminine, effortless colors and prints you can imagine. And I wish I could marry my husband again, in a place that isn’t Northern New Jersey, just to give my girls the chance to wear something so cute. Side note, the bridesmaids dresses for my wedding were nice, and my cousin actually just wore hers again for a spring formal at college, but they weren’t exactly wear-again IRL worthy. These options, on the other hand, have rewear potential for days.

And what is even cooler (and I hadn’t ever realized it before), you can buy the dresses in bulk!! In combinations of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7… sets. And either ask the girls what color/print and size they want, or choose for them (be strategic, of course, you want 😍 pictures and you’ll only get them with equally happy girls). Love love love this. Plus, these dresses are kind of perf for wedding guest wear, so that once-told lie that your girls would wear the dress again. #Debunked.
Distraction. Whoops.
Getting back to my earlier thought that if you’re not considering them for a destination wedding, we can’t be friends, I thought I’d run down some reasons:
For a wedding, this lowkey look - with the super feminine petaled shoulder straps - pairs really well with pretty statement jewelry and a relaxed, yet still put-together hairstyle. But for future vacations, this dress is a go-to maxi. Just needs some sandals (or none at all), tousled beach waves, and a fedora.

I will always say yes to jumpsuits. Always. And the addition of the ruffles just makes the two too-good for a beachy wedding. Some girls in solids, some girls in prints (great, too, if your squad is taller, those tapered pants look much better on longer legs), with heels for a little bit a fanciness. Plus, the gold hardware on the drawstring adds some nice decorative detail. And when the wedding is over, these jumpsuits can go home, and be renewed again with a cute jean jacket and flirty flip flops or gladiator sandals.

Yes, those pics of you and your tribe in your cute robes, sipping mimosas on your bed, they’re adorable. But for destination I Dos, you and your girls can get ready poolside, with some mild(ish) margs and super cute cover ups. And then the ladies can take them home (easy to pack ✔️) and take them on all their future trips and/or their own honeymoon. Robes and cover ups are the only post-wedding wardrobe needed when you’re ‘mooning 😉

And when you’re having a destination wedding, there’s bound to be some bridal party/guest mingling… #hookupshappen when you mix a wedding with vacay. So, there’s definitely something to be said for creating a sassy little welcome basket for your best girls. Complete with a cute boyfriend shirt… If she’ll be doing a walk of shame, she might as well look good while she’s doing it. 🙌 And he sure as hell can be doing it too. Don’t need to tell you just HOW many ways this can be worn again.
