A huge congratulations to Katie from Minutes of Love Photography who recently got engaged. Her fiancé proposed with a ring from 1915, which set the tone of their wedding. An old Southern style wedding in Savannah.
After the tone of the wedding was set, it was time to ask her best friends to be a part of her vintage themed wedding. She was sure to capture the essence of her wedding her bridesmaid gift boxes. Filled not only with valuable information, but with thoughtful mementos that her friends will keep for years to come. Are you thinking of making your friends a little something special? We would love to hear.
To go along with their theme (they are huge fans of Downton Abbey) Katie included items in the boxes captured the essence and/or feel of their wedding. Each of her bridesmaids is being styled according to their personalities in chiffon and shift dresses, and each bridesmaid will wear unique vintage accents to tie into the theme. Included in each of the bridesmaid boxes:
• pack of color chips for their shoe selection
• vintage hanky selected from Katie's grandmother's collection
• a handwritten note
• a piece of vintage jewelry or vintage gloves from Katie's Etsy store collection, The Design Archives
• a "will you be my bridesmaid" invitation that Katie designed and printed
• a package of "Hair Candy" purchased via Resty Lista
• tea stained tags with each of their names.
Here are a few more cute ideas to ask bridesmaid to be in your wedding. If you opted not to throw in the hankie and the nailpolish, you could easily make these boxes for less than a few dollars a piece.
Paint Chips: Pick them up at your local hardware store to show the color scheme of your wedding. Only take as many as you need and try to keep the samples to a minimum.
Nail Polish: It's also nice to throw in a gift. Especially if it can be used on your wedding day. Include the color of nail polish you would like your bridesmaids to wear. We love the color Movers and Shakers by Essie $8
Keep Sake Custom Printed Hankie: Another lovely and thoughtful gesture to put in your will you be my bridesmaid box. $12
Print out Photos You Love: Share photos of dresses, florals, shoes. Anything that will give your friends an idea of the overall tone of your wedding. Those hot pink bridesmaid dresses below are designed by Thread Social. $0
Our Will You Be My Bridesmaid Card: Prints out for free. You can include all the info that that they will need to know on the back of these cards. Be sure to wrap it up pretty in a matching envelope.$0 for card (if you have paper) and 10 envelopes for $4.25
Pack It Up Pretty: We love how Katie packed everything in a natural kraft gable box, lined it with shred paper. She also used a lot of twine to tie up her paint chip cards and the hankie. Kraft Boxes $15.25 for 12 | Shred Paper $4 | Twine $2.75
