I’m sad right now, guys. I’m sad, because I’m 33 weeks pregnant and unfortunately have to bow out of participating in one of my favorite holidays today: National Red Wine Day. Yep, it’s a thing, and a really good thing at that - but my little one is getting nice and big and will be out soon, TG!!! So, I’m just going to have to postpone sipping on some sangria (one of my favorite beverages in life) a little while longer… I’ve got a nice bottle of Shiraz slowly gathering dust on my bar cart, though, #preggomomstruggs, so as long as it’s untouched for the next couple of months, I’m 👍.

Yup, this post won’t actually be about wine, sorry, but I’ve got something better if you’re a bride thinking about bridesmaids dresses for your crew. Wine-colored dresses have been and always will be a win for the girls, because jewel tones are still hella trendy, and they play well with seriously every other color, print, metallic, etc.. Not to mention, you really won’t have any issues finding a shade you want to show off, because - dead serious - every bridesmaid brand has a wine-hued iteration in its fashion [wine] cellar, ranging from deeper reds and burgundies to punchier mauve tones and grape-kissed tinctures.

They’re absolutely on-point for fall weddings, because they have a mulled kind of mood to them, 100 percent. BUT that’s not to say that you can’t experiment with lighter varietals of this vine-ripened color wheel for spring and summer. Not just in color, either, but in fabric choices. Velvet, satin, lace or charmeuse confections are great options for cooler wedding months, but chiffon, tulle, jersey, even some more weightless crepes are amaze for warmer weather. So, you don’t have to stress that your wine looks won’t work all-year-round. People are drinking that nectar of the gods all day, every day, so dressing your squad in the same vintage is quite alright.
