After designing her own wedding gown when she was unable to find the perfect one, Annette Thurmon decided to pursue her dreams and started Chaviano Couture in the spring of 2009. Her collection debuted at New York Fashion week in 2010 and her company has continued to grow by launching new collections, being featured in magazines and even publishing a book, A Lifetime of Happiness.
Annette is a firm believer in encouraging others to follow their dreams. Because of this Chaviano Couture not only specializes in creating custom, one-of-a-kind gowns for their brides, but they also donate 20% of their proceeds to help people around the world — most recently orphan girls in Haiti. Read on to see what Annette has to say about her Fall 2013 collection and be sure to check out the rest of the gowns in the full gallery here.
From Annette Thurmon:Our newest collection embodies romance and timeless elegance. Beautiful silhouettes that flow with tulle and gorgeous lace. For this collection we created a one-of-a kind gown with the help of Kristy Rice. A beautiful ball gown with endless yards of hand painted silk organza by Kristy in a pattern exclusive to Chaviano Couture. It is our favorite gown in the collection.
Our collection is unique with delicate details including pockets, hand applied beading, hand sewn lace, horsehair braid, and some extra sparkle! We truly believe wearing a wedding gown should be an unforgettable experience. Proceeds from each gown sold go to a charity or mission project around the world. We aim to leave a lasting impression not only on our brides, but in someone's life as well. We hope you love this collection as much as we do!
