So while Meghan Markle fans everywhere hustle to get their hands on a replica of the Duchess’s rhinestone wedding tiara - now available at The Royal Look for Less - we’ve continued to obsess over Kaley Cuoco’s wedding hair (along with her cape gown, obvi). Definitely a far cry from the royal wedding hairstyle that Meghan rocked, but, dare we say, we liked it even better? Yup, we said it. Something could look better than a carefully-coiffed bun + an heirloom tiara + a veil.
Kaley’s hairdo - actually hairdos, she had two of them, a low+textured undone bun and a high pony for the after party, and they were equally fab AF - was pulled off by Christine Symonds. And what we loved about them most was the fact that she used the same Jennifer Behr headpiece to accessorize both. We legit had to look that up, because we honestly couldn’t believe a celeb bride would want to recycle something on her wedding day. Kaley did, though, and that’s what makes her our 🦄.

The Phillipa Comb from Jennifer Behr combines hand-enameled flowers and Swarovski crystals for a look that can be worn several ways (as evidenced by KC). Even though it can work with a veil, Kaley bailed on it, and we’d probs have done the same, because it makes a killer statement on its own. We’d at least hope so, since it ain’t cheap ($1,050).

So, for any of our brides-to-be who are considering nixing the veil for the big day, it can certainly be done - without taking away your signature bride-ness. You just have to make sure you’re accenting your hairstyle in a way that’s a little fancier than your ‘as per usj.’ You can do something simple with your tresses, just don’t abandon some sparkle - your dress and your ring deserve it….
We pulled some of the most stunning headpieces we could find from our own crew of accessories vendors, to assure you that going sans-veil is absolutely and positively a thing. And what’s more… A veil doesn’t exactly scream wear-again (if you want to, though, you do you - we support ya!), cool headpieces on the other hand? They’ve got versatility for days. A wedding gown, lace jumpsuit, custom denim jacket, all good looks to go along with the best accessory ever.
