Winter Wonderland Wedding In A Remodeled Barn
The bride, Gisela is a professional baker, so she's seen many a wedding...and the pressure was on when it came to planning her own. She and her now hubby knew that they wanted a winter celebration, because what could be better than having the best day of your life take place during the most wonderful time of the year? They decided to dive headfirst into the holiday spirit with their wedding, selecting a bold red and green color palette with touches of blush here and there. And, because the bride is a wedding professional, of course, she had to make her own cake, and not just one!
That Spark Events, a close friend of the bride from working together so many times before, completely understood the couple's vision for their big day and knocked it out of the park. The venue, Pineland Place, with its warm wood interior, fit the theme perfectly. Forever Flowers Chs kept the florals festive in color but incorporated traditional wedding flowers like roses and dahlias to convey that while it is a celebration during the holidays, it is a wedding, not a holiday party. GAB Photography, another industry friend of the bride, had the honor of photographing their big day, and these photos turned out just beautifully. BAKER TURNED BRIDE
Gisela, owner of Dessert Designs By Gisela, is no stranger to weddings as she makes beautiful and delicious wedding cakes for her clients year after year. This time she had the awesome opportunity to create something special and sweet for her own wedding day. December, the most wonderful time of the year, is even more wonderful for Stephen and Gisela who were able to celebrate their nuptials with all of the magic of Christmas. Stephen and Gisela shared their most perfect day surrounded by love. Family, friends, and even a few "friendors" such as GAB Photography, Latin Groove Charleston, and That Spark Events helped to make their big day extraordinary. They danced the night away under twinkling white lights and enveloped in red poinsettias. The holidays have always been magical, but now for Stephen and Gisela, they are even better.
TWO BECOME ONE
When Gisela moved to Charleston, SC from California six years ago, she hardly believed she would find the love of her life. Stephen came into her life and the lives of her twin boys and quickly fit right into their now beautifully blended family. The couple decided on Pineland Place, a modernized rustic-chic barnhouse set below gorgeous tall pines which made the perfect backdrop for their I do's. Gisela wore a stunning gown designed by Morilee By Madeline Gardner from Bridals By Jodi and donned a classic glam look with hair by Contours And Curls and makeup by Chelsea Shea.
THE ULTIMATE DIY
Between hair, makeup, and bridal party shenanigans, Gisela still found the time to place finishing touches on various cakes she designed especially for her big day. Though many people cautioned her and told her she should just relax on her wedding day and hire someone else to worry about the cake, being able to create her own wedding cake was just a small thing she really wanted to do for herself; something that made her happy.
