When Just One Look Won’t Do For Your Modern Chic Beach Wedding
What is a fashion forward gal like yourself to do when your big day is just too fabulous for one dress? ... When just one look won't do for your modern chic beach wedding, dare you get three? This next Belmar, New Jersey based beach inspiration brought to life by Rustic Drift, Ann Coen Photography and a team of very talented vendors showcases three very chic looks for your beach wedding. When designing this shoot we wanted to complement the simplicity of the venue and decided on a modern geometric theme; playing off the surrounding ocean and boardwalk planks. The most evident geometric detail can be seen in the large triangular arbor constructed by Rustic Drift. Standing over ten feet tall, this structure provided the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom without taking away from the natural beauty of the ocean. Vintage rugs, glass floats, geometric lanterns and a gorgeous floral arrangement full of cascading greenery, peonies, Juliet roses and ranunculus completed the design of the ceremony setup.
The bride's gorgeous peony filled bouquet was wrapped in various neutral and pink toned silk ribbons that blew perfectly in the sea breeze. To visualize how different bridal styles could translate with this theme, three gowns and various accessories were provided from Free Love Bridal of Cape May, NJ. In addition to various dresses, three different hair and makeup styles were also provided by the team of Beach House Spa to complement the bridal gown styles.
Bride Style #1
The first dress seen in the ceremony and beach portraits was a frothy and fun strapless beach ball gown by Stella York. The headpiece was a combed double strand of rose crystals with a large center teardrop by Richard Designs.
The first makeup look was soft, romantic and sultry.
The cocktail hour setting outfitted by rental company, Rustic Drift, centered on a Caribbean-inspired rum bar featuring rums, tropical décor and a giant market umbrella as well as a ground lounge consistent with the geometric theme. The idea of the lounge was to create a relaxed beach picnic environment with a ton of throw pillows, lanterns, blankets and rugs. A giant piece of driftwood was used to add some wooden texture, nautical elements and height to the setting.
Bridal Style #2
The second dress seen in the bar, lounge and gazebo images was a beaded slim fitting crystal embellished gown with a caged train again by Stella York.
The second makeup look was bold and chic
Modern concepts from the shoot are also evident in the reception setting design. The dinner table included Rustic Drift’s farm tables, bistro chairs as well as the tabletop rentals (flatware, glassware and plateware). Mixed metals were used on and around the dinner table including steel, gold and copper. Tea-dyed cheese cloth was positioned under the modern place cards and menu cards which were designed by Perchal Fibers, topped with geometric minis on each place setting. The centerpiece by Katydid Signature Events & Floral Design included lush greenery, seasonal spirea, peonies, Juliet roses, ranunculus, scabiosa and astilbe. Queen Anne’s lace completed the centerpiece design adding a touch of wild garden style to the florals.
Bridal Style #3
The third dress seen in the evening and reception photos was a sexy satin slip dress with spaghetti straps and a plunging open back by Allure Bridals. This dress was styled with “back jewelry” by Richard Designs and a hairpiece with a double strand of rhinestones by Jaxie Bridal.
The last makeup look old Hollywood/Gatsby-inspired.
