This beautiful Vietnamese couple, Michelle and John, put together a wedding that was magical in all senses of the word. Due to Covid, the couple decided to make the wedding a bit smaller which made it quaint and intimate. The bride is a calligrapher, so she designed and hand made the place cards which was a personal touch that made the day incredibly special. We love a wedding with cultural traditions, and the tea ceremony really was a glimpse into this unique practice that calls for blessings from ancestors and family elders. The couple also took a moment to honor her late father at the graveyard in her wedding dress, which was an intimate moment to witness.
The backyard reception was so well curated given the limited space - the couple did an amazing job using their floral arrangements to add warmth and color to the space. Not often does a bride choose to pair her dress and her bridesmaid’s dresses with a jean jacket. This gave the day a little funky accent. Everyone loved it!
1. Be flexible. Don’t overthink things. And always drink a lot of water.
2. Make expectations clear to your wedding party. Michelle's bridal party got along great because she considered the group dynamic when selecting them and made it clear on the front end that one bridesmaid would likely be too busy to help do anything.
3. Do your research on vendors! A great vendor team = *almost* stress free wedding planning and wedding day :-)
