This modern disco-inspired shoot took place at South Congress Hotel in Austin's trendy South Congress neighborhood. The shoot was planned and designed by Hawthorne & Poppy Events and photographed by the talented Eryn Chandler Photography. The overall inspiration was focused on iridescent pink tones, a modern vibe featuring disco balls, and lots of texture!

When looking for the perfect location for a modern-meets-Austin style wedding or elopement, there is only one location that comes to mind, and that is South Congress Hotel. A few steps out of South Congress Hotel’s entrance will land you on South Congress Avenue, where you will find all of the best murals Austin has to offer and a direct view of the downtown skyline and capitol.

All Dolled Up Atx took chic glamour to the next level with her expert hair and makeup artistry for our model Samantha McWilliams. Samantha’s makeup featured a playful gold, iridescent-like eyeshadow, and a natural lip to help Samantha’s eyes shine bright. For Samantha’s hair, All Dolled Up ATX created a romantic wave perfect for featuring the pearl hair crown designed by Elizabeth Bower. Her dress, handpicked by Unbridaled in Austin and designed by Chosen By One Day, Kyha, featured a deep v neckline, a dramatic open back, bell sleeves, and scattered in sequins.

South Congress Hotel is the perfect classic yet modern blank slate that can be transformed into any dream a couple may have. The boutique hotel offers stunning mid-century modern architecture and design, lush gardens and unique views that epitomize Austin, Texas. South Congress Hotel’s event space was the perfect location for our glamorously chic photoshoot with the modern white brick and navy velvet draping. Pop & Drop and The Bloom Bar provided a modern backdrop full of texture and shine. The ceremony backdrop was adorned with rows of white fringe handmade in Austin by Pop & Drop. The Bloom Bar fixed pops of fun floral and disco ball arrangements to the fringe backdrop tying in the pink tones featured in the bridal bouquet.

The reception space was created with an intimate elopement in mind. With quintessential modern Austin bride in mind, Hawthorne & Poppy Events tailored the room after romantic texture, intimacy, and vibrant pops of modern fun. The blush and white velvet linens, provided by Premiere Events, draped over each table in the space like a soft blanket of sophistication. The head table floral created by The Bloom Bar spilled over the head table like a waterfall into a disco ball pool on the floor. Blush guest tables featured modern compotes mimicking the bride’s bouquet, and ikebana arrangements surrounded by mini disco balls and taper candles. To bring the theme of having fun together, Oh Happy Day Photobooth created an iridescent sequin backdrop fit for a glam couple who are looking for something a little untraditional yet classic.
