Elizabeth and Noah met in high school in San Francisco and started dating spring of freshman year. They both moved to Boston for college at different schools, and after graduation relocated to Houston for work. After traveling the world together, and moving across the country, the couple wanted to plan a hometown wedding. Documentary Wedding Photographers Alison Yin Photography captured the entire day. Aerialist Press and Crush Papers created the custom stationery. Modern Urban San Francisco Wedding

The design for their wedding was modern minimalism meets colorful Japanese ikebana. The theme was inspired by their travels to Japan and their special engagement celebration at Single Thread in Healdsburg. This quaint restaurant and inn is known for Japanese artisanal cuisine and a Ryokan style aesthetic in the restaurant furnishings and tabletop ceramics. The color palette for the wedding incorporated neutral gray and wood elements fused with vibrant floral pops of fuchsia and purple with bright greenery.

The Pearl was the perfect modern setting for their wedding. This beautiful venue features living sculptures, reclaimed cedar ceilings, and a stunning 31-foot tall reconstructed elm tree art installation.

At each turn, the wedding design demonstrated the juxtaposition of neutral, serene modern minimalism with vibrant pops of colors. The bride, styled by Secret Agent Salon, even wore colorful rainbow Louboutin shoes, which were a fun surprise peeking out from the hem of her beautiful Anne Barge Jubilee gown.

The ceremony took place on The Pearl's urban rooftop with surrounding city views. The bride walked down the aisle with a beautiful botanical bouquet by This Humble Abode featuring bright pink dahlias, scabiosa, nerine lily, garden roses, poke weed, California pepper tree, jasmine vine and anthurium leaf. The bridesmaids held single stem pink dahlias.

During the ceremony, the wedding rings were passed around to each guest to hold and bless before Elizabeth and Noah exchanged vows and rings. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed delicious bites made by Global Gourmet Catering, including Tiny Thai Tombo Tuna Tacos and Tokyo Crisps with nori, pickled ginger and miso butter.

Dining tables from Bright were draped in grey linens and set with stoneware china from Standard Party Rentals and gray flatware. In the two-toned color blocked palette, half the tables were decorated with fuchsia florals and the other half with purple arrangements. Tables had a mix of lush florals with minimalist ikebana-style arrangements. Each place setting had a different botanical accent tucked into a gray linen napkin from La Tavola Fine Linen. The muted gray foundation allowed the flowers and greenery to pop.

Both Elizabeth and Noah are die-hard cocktail connoisseurs and provided guests with four specialty cocktails: Negroni Spagliato, Vieux Carre, The Last Word, and a frozen Junglebird with blackstrap rum. The bride designed and illustrated the specialty cocktail signs.

As guests were welcomed to dinner downstairs, they were offered a glass of Domaine Carneros Napa sparkling brut poured from three large Imperial bottles. Liz and Noah aimed to give guests a communal experience, making sure each of them were meaningful participants in the wedding ceremony, and could share in the celebratory champagne bottles together.

For their cake cutting, Elizabeth and Noah chose a princess cake in a custom purple color from Victoria Pastry, a famous bakery in San Francisco. Got Light set the mood while Boutique DJ's, Raff's Party Machines and Giggle and Riot entertained guests. The perfect sweet ending for their hometown wedding.
