I knew from the very beginning that I wanted everything about our day to be intentional and truly mean something to us. A few of our favorite things are the ocean, being anywhere on the water, our pup Kailo, good drinks, and food!
When looking for vendors, I wanted to make sure that each person got along well with us as a couple, had the same values as us, and had the same vision for our day. At first, our plans were a bit bigger. We planned to have about 150 people at a waterfront venue in Beach Haven, NJ. When COVID started, we realized that a large wedding wasn't an option so we shifted our special day into something more appropriate for the place the world was in.
Greg and I met on the Island, he asked me to be his girlfriend at the lighthouse, and we got engaged a block away from his childhood beach home right in front of where we met for the first time! We were able to have a ceremony at the Barnegat Lighthouse which was so special to us. Greg grew up roaming around Barnegat Light, fishing, and boating with his dad. Then, as we were dating, Greg took me on adventures to some of those same places. So, it was amazing to be able to exchange our vows in a very special spot.
We wanted the design and style of the wedding to also fit our personalities. We love the colors of greenery and based most of the wedding off of that and things that complement it. We incorporated eco-friendly items like driftwood and dried flowers to compliment the larger design pieces and everything turned out amazing. The venue was beautiful, the rentals and flowers were perfect, the food was to die for, and luckily, the sun shined all day! Although we didn't have the day that we originally planned for, it turned out better than I could have imagined.
