When you think beach weddings, the first few things that usually come to mind are seashells, drift wood and endless mounds of sand. Well Tonia and Derek wanted to make their coastal wedding all about spring so they chose a blush and gold color palette to bring it all together flawlessly at the The Currituck Club in North Carolina. No beach decor needed.
Their laid-back day featured pops of gold sparkle for an added a touch of glam, while the fresh flowers from Renee Landry Events brought the spring vibe to life. Sarah D'Ambra Photography captured every last moment beautifully, and you can see it all first hand in the full gallery here.
From Southern Hospitality Weddings & Events: Just because you're getting married at the beach doesn't mean your wedding has to be nautical or beach-themed and Tonia & Derek's wedding perfectly proved this point! They chose to have a destination wedding in the small beach town of Corolla in the Outer Banks but their wedding was a timeless, Spring celebration filled with bright pink blooms, gold details, glam sequins and the perfect DIY elements!
The ceremony took place on the Currituck Sound on a breezy, spring day. The altar was made of 2 vintage posts, draped with hundreds of roses - such a simple setup but so stunning as it moved in the wind! Guests were greeted with a lemonade station and metallic gold sunglasses for the ceremony with a sign that read, "you'll thank us in the morning"!
The decor of this wedding was the perfect combo of romantic and fresh for spring - bright coral charm peonies, ranunculus, anemones, garden roses and more. The blush, pink & gold color palette was so bright and fun and the sequins and glitter added that touch of glam! The bride also included the perfect DIY elements - wooden signage with gold lettering, hand-painted escort "cards" on wood discs and a pallet guest book that can be displayed in their home for years to come.
In addition to a gorgeous wedding cake adorned with flowers, the couple also choose to pay homage to one of everyone's favorite treats on the Outer Banks - Duck Donuts! They had an assortment of flavors including chocolate coconut, lemon berry & the crowd-favorite - maple bacon! Guests sent the bride & groom off with a sparkler exit before they were whisked away via trolley! The best part about the wedding? Since it was a destination wedding in the Outer Banks, the celebration didn't last for just one night! They rented houses for the week and enjoyed time with family and friends at the beach!
