If I had to give a word of advice to future brides, it would be to not stress over the small details and really just enjoy your wedding day. It is probably the only time in your lives where everyone you love, from every aspect of your life, will be together in one place.
I do not remember the table settings or what the cake table looked like, but I vividly remember walking down the aisle on my father’s arm and crying the moment I saw all of our family and friends standing and smiling.
In retrospect, we wished that we had kept track of time better during the reception as we did not get a chance to visit every table like we had hoped. Luckily, we were able to at least greet everyone individually during the cocktail hour because we had taken all of our wedding pictures earlier in the day, which is something I would advise other couples do.
Personalized chopsticks in cherry mismatched fabric holders were given as wedding favors to the guests.
I would advise future brides is to practice dancing in a long dress before the wedding! I always wore a short dress during our dance lessons and felt really uncomfortable and clumsy when I had to dance in my long, heavy wedding dress for the first time.
Budget Breakdown from the Bride:
We initially set what we thought was a generous budget, but as it turns out weddings can become very expensive rather quickly. Since food was very important to us, we actually did not have a limit on that, and were otherwise able to stick to our budget for almost everything else. We ended up with about 125 guests, which was close to what we had expected.
