Love Story and Wedding Inspiration

Betsy and Kevin dated briefly in college. They moved to separate coasts upon graduation but kept in touch and remained close friends for a number of years. Finally, they decided to give it a go again.
After getting engaged in Tokyo, Betsy and Kevin set out to create a wedding with a backyard dinner party vibe. Cielo Farms provide the perfect backdrop for their guest to relax into the night. Pulling inspiration from the natural beauty with simple white and green florals Betsy and Kevin opted for large farm tables for an intimate inclusive dinner.

Keeping things on their level, Betsy opted for a simple form fitting Amsale dress and Kevin kept it causal with a tieless suit. She loved the classic front with the sheet back and wore her late mother’s sapphire and diamond earrings checking off something old, borrowed and blue together. They personalized the ceremony with a few of their favorite Jewish wedding traditions and included photos of Betsy’s mother, Marcia and Kevin’s Grandfather Maurice to keep them with them in spirit.
Combining their Houston and Connecticut families together under a clear summer sky with views of the Pacific Coastline was all Betsy and Kevin wanted – just one big summer party.

The Best Moment

Bride: The most memorable part of our wedding day was that the cantor that married us asked us both to write a letter to him about the other so he could get to know us better and have some things to use while marrying us. Unbeknownst to either of us, the Cantor loved out letters to each other so much that he decided to read each letter in its entirety. At first I was taken aback and tried to talk him out of it, while we were standing under the chuppah in front of all our guests, no less! My letter was about 5 pages, despite the 1 page limit he gave us. Despite my protests, he read both our letters starting with Kevin's.

My favorite part about that moment was how similar our letters were and how honest we both were in speaking about our love for each other. It also gave our guests a very intimate look into our relationship. If we had known the Cantor was going to read our letters out loud, neither of us would have been as open as we were, and I love that everyone was able to share in that moment.

A Little Advice

Advice for wedding planning couples, hire Round Town Events! They were amazing and took a lot of the stress out of planning. Also, be present and be kind to one another throughout the planning process. It's easy to get caught up in small details that seem like a huge deal at the time but at the end of the day the wedding is about you and your partner and that's all that matters.
