This editorial features an artistic use of calligraphy in the form of a ceremony tapestry, love letters, and signage. It was inspired by the characters Holly and Gerry from the tear-jerker drama PS I Love You. We were inspired to create this editorial by the author who announced a second book would follow the first - to be released in September of this year. We were even able to secure a handmade veil from Kinnoir shipped to us all the way from Ireland!
Our color palette was built around rich shades of mustard, emerald green, charcoal grey, burnt orange, and copper, all of which worked together beautifully against the country club's cream exterior. Our vivid use of color was so foundational to the design because we wanted to showcase just how stunning vibrant color tones can be in a neutral space.
Florals played an important role throughout the design, from the ceremony to the tabletop, and everywhere in between. Our floral designer used a mixture of sweet peas, roses, and unripe raspberries for their copper, mustard, and orange hues, softened by shades of dusty pink.
To work alongside the show-stopping florals, our cake designer hand wrote a quote from the Ps I Love you movie onto the white fondant. His design ties in all of the calligraphy elements within this shoot.
As a nod to the movie PS I Love you within this charming country club setting, we included Bella Belle shoes, the most renowned bridal shoes in the industry. These handmade shoes were similar to the ones Holly - the main character in the movie - designers for her best friend's wedding day. They paired beautifully with the handmade Claire Pettibone Santa Monica gown.
