Contemporary Bright & Beautiful Wedding Ideas

Elegant wedding invitation suite with silk ribbon and jewelry

We have a few simple, earth-friendly wedding ideas that you can easily incorporate into your wedding day without sacrificing style. A team of London wedding vendors created all these eco-friendly ideas that are oozing style. Their main goal was to spark ideas, inspire creativity, and encourage couples to  step away from the norm. The day's highlights are the waste note bouquet station, DIY Manhattan cocktail drink station, and the impressive floral installations.

Stationery Pieces

Having the Made by Wood & Wood duo on board meant we could really push the boundaries with our signage and stationery. They produced a beautifully bespoke suite of designs including the wedding stationery above. Once you scroll down, you'll see the bold place-mat style place names adding subtle pops of color to the tablescape, a natural green-toned banner for our flower station and an insta-worthy welcome sign and table plan combo.

GOLD HAIR PIECES

Our beautiful bride donned hand-crafted hairpieces from the super-modern Lilley Studio for a twist to the traditional bridal look, and we added gold textured and pearl hoops to give her that extra edge.

Hannah Monk enhanced our bride’s incredible flowing tresses with a gentle, tousled style. Our favorite look was the stunningly simple low ponytail which beautifully mirrored the elegance of the Alon Livne gown. Makeup was kept to a minimum enhancing our bride's natural beauty.

Color Palette

The color palette was key to drawing every element of the shoot together – we knew we wanted to be contemporary, cool and add a little edge to the usual 'pretty' that's often associated with weddings. I worked closely with the talented Poppy of Poppy Wild Floral to bring to life our floral-heavy, foliage-filled vision. She scattered incredible bursts of clashing and complementary color with plenty of texture and  movement throughout the stunning airy venue.

The flowers and greenery were always set to be a focus for the shoot. The foliage-focussed installation was designed to feel organic and unruly.

We wanted it to complement the character of the impressive double-height window at Millbridge Court, while bringing the outside in. Anemones with their deliciously inky centers added warmth and depth to our natural, understated palette and added a real punch to the images, standing apart from the lightness of the room. Toffee Roses, Ranunculus, and Scabious with minds of their own complemented one another amongst various Grasses, Asparagus Fern, draping Clematis & flowering Jasmine.

SIGNATURE COCKTAIL STATION

We love this clever DIY cocktail station. A card is displayed that shares with guests that couple drank old fashion cocktails on their first date, and it only seemed right that their guests shared the same cocktail on their wedding day.

All the fixings to mix the cocktail was laid out and guests are able to go through and mix up their own old fashion cocktail. Clever.

Our tablescape was the perfect opportunity to tie all the elements of the shoot together, with the ever-popular Urbane tablecloth from Just 4 Linen, sleek and modern tableware from Hire the Look and Poppy’s incredible and impactful florals breathing life and color into our design.

Amazing Sage Green Cake

Our amazing cake was executed by the artistically brilliant Anna from Anna Lewis Cakes, with additional jewel toned treats to marry perfectly with our impressive florals: Anna said, "Since the cake was one solid color it was essential to me that the design incorporated texture and movement which would ensure that the beautiful flowers blended seamlessly into the design and the unique sage green color and jewel-toned mini-desserts really complemented the rich floristry palette”.

WASTE NOT WANT  NOT STATION

A playful addition to the shoot was the Waste Not Bouquet Station. The idea here being that certain arrangements such as miniature ‘bud vases’ not only create a subtle AND scattered impact, they can also double up as a thoughtful and beautiful fit, an alternative to wedding favors.
